MIBR confirm LUCAS1 signing
MIBR have announced that they have picked up Lucas "LUCAS1" Teles from Luminosity with immediate effect.
The 23-year-old joins MIBR as a replacement for João "felps" Vasconcellos, and is already bootcamping with his new team in Frankfurt ahead of their next event, ESL One Cologne.
The announcement follows a series of mixed results from MIBR, who have not been able to challenge for titles this year despite going back to communicating in Portuguese following the returns of felps and Epitacio "TACO" de Melo.

After a promising semi-final run at the IEM Katowice Major, MIBR struggled for form, going out of the WESG World Finals in the quarter-finals, losing all five matches at BLAST Pro Series São Paulo and crashing out of StarSeries i-League Season 7 in the groups.
A third place at BLAST Pro Series Miami and a top-four finish at IEM Sydney seemed to indicate that the team was on the road to recovery, but then the Brazilians were eliminated at the ECS Season 7 Finals after just two matches and could not get out of the groups at the ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals.
While in Montpellier, Marcelo "coldzera" David admitted that some of the players were struggling to understand how to play the game, and criticized felps for putting the team in awkward situations by getting killed early on.
LUCAS1, who was part of the Immortals squad that reached the final at PGL Major Krakow, has long been on MIBR captain Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's wishlist. In early 2017, he was on the list of targets to replace Lincoln "fnx" Lau before the team eventually signed felps.
With the move to MIBR, LUCAS1 will be separated from his twin brother Henrique "HEN1" Teles for the first time since they started playing competitively, almost a decade ago, in 1.6.
UPDATE: HLTV.org has learned that LUCAS1 is joining MIBR on loan until after the StarLadder Major. This means that, at the very least, he will attend four events with the team: ESL One Cologne, BLAST Pro Series Los Angeles, IEM Chicago and the Major.
With these changes, MIBR now have:
Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo
Marcelo "coldzera" David
Fernando "fer" Alvarenga
Epitacio "TACO" de Melo
Lucas "LUCAS1" Teles (loan)
Wilton "zews" Prado (coach)
