Copenhagen Flames sign Assassins

Copenhagen Flames have announced that they have acquired Assassins' lineup.

The squad's last outing was back in April when they made it to the grand final of Copenhagen Games Female, ultimately losing 2-0 to CLG Red. Since then, the European team have parted ways with Klaudia "klaudia" Beczkiewicz and added Vicky "vic" Dose to their lineup.

Now under the Copenhagen Flames banner, Michaela "mimi" Lintrup and company are preparing for DreamHack Showdown, which will take place on July 5-7 in Valencia, Spain.

Copenhagen Flames Female will make their debut at DH Showdown

In addition to its $100,000 prize pool, the eight-team female event will hand out a spot at DreamHack Open Rotterdam, where the champions of DreamHack Showdown will compete against seven male teams.

"We saw a huge opportunity here with one of the world's best female teams, which competes in large international tournaments – a team with such a great passion and dedication towards reaching their biggest goal: being able to compete with the boys. They are a part of the absolute elite on the female scene and our goal is to lift this team to an even higher level, maybe even serious contenders on the male scene." said Steffen Thomsen, the owner of Copenhagen Flames.

"Now, first of all, the focus is on DreamHack Showdown Valencia, where the winner will qualify for DreamHack Open Rotterdam and compete against male teams. It would mean so much to the team to be able to qualify for a tournament like this than winning big prize pools. We spotted that passion from the start of our process, which only made the team more attractive to us.

This team is filled with talent, work ethics, passion and dedication, which also matches our values here at Copenhagen Flames. Whether you are a boy or a girl, these are the values and personalities we're looking for in our club. We have never been afraid to do things differently from other organisations, we're constantly searching for the highest maximum potential in esport as a whole, and not just one or two games."

Copenhagen Flames Female has the following lineup:

Russia Ksenia "vilga" Kluenkova
Russia Alyona "Candy" Kuvaeva
Denmark Michaela "mimi" Lintrup
Belgium Kelly "KllyVe" Verhaegen
Denmark Vicky "vic" Dose

Not really
2019-06-28 15:06
Big organizations should invest more into female teams.
2019-06-28 15:20
Why? They are not even close to the level of the sub top male scene, so why should there be Money invested in female cs? They should compete with the males instead of making excuses for why they can’t. This isn’t a physical sport.
2019-06-28 18:00
You're saying that this is not a physical sport but it kind of is. Being one of the best in the world requires you to move your hands with incredible speed and accuracy. Mechanical skill is physical skill and men and women surely have differences related to it. Even if it wasn't physical, there might be differences in how men and women think and process information in general. That means that both men and women might have advantages or disadvantages in specific situations in the game. I don't understand why so many people always assume that there are no differences between men and women when it comes esports.
2019-06-28 18:16
They are increadibly small if so. And no female player is even near being viable for a top 30 team. But ITS ok they have their own. We also have handicap Olympics.
2019-06-28 18:42
Not only when it comes to esport. In fact we're stronger , faster. The best female cs player for example is probably average 8-10lvl faceit player. And their teamplay/tactics are tier5-6 so playing with T1-2 teams is just pointless. We all love intense games but not humiliation
2019-06-29 00:12
The best female players are around 3k elo, idk what you are talking about rofl You could stick some of the best female players on t2-3 male teams but yeh not on tier 1
2019-06-29 03:35
Hahahha, which female player is good enough for t2-3 team?
2019-06-29 09:01
Petra, Candy, Mimi could join one of the weaker tier 2 teams or a tier 3 team. They would obviously not be the stars but they wouldn't be the worst player on the roster either
2019-06-29 12:05
T3-5 maybe , but t2... i doubt they'll fit in any top20 team.
2019-06-29 20:24
they could be in one of the weaker T2 teams and not make the team better but not make the team much worse by just swapping the worst players

So that's why you support separating players by genders. :DDD
