BLAST Pro Series Los Angeles schedule announced

The schedule for the upcoming BLAST Pro Series Los Angeles tournament has been announced by the organizers.

The schedule has been adjusted from the previous editions of BLAST Pro Series, as the Los Angeles stop will feature a different format, having added a best-of-three semi-finals stage.

The entire group stage, played in a best-of-one round robin, will take place on the first day of the tournament with two to three matches played at the same time. The top four sides will make it to the playoffs on day two, which will retain its traditional Stand-off match ahead of the grand final.

MIBR vs. Renegades and FaZe vs. NRG will kick off the action in L.A.

In a full BO3 swiss system you play one BO3/day except for the final which is most likely BO5. On top of that you get at least one day off between the group stage and playoff, so yes, it's absolutely better than this garbage. This isn't even mentionning the final being on the same day as the semis, which player have always complained about because you want to come as fresh as possible into the final.

So many games on one day is crazy. Just stretch it to three days. And 4 AM? There go your European viewers.
2019-07-02 19:44
that format gets worse and worse 15 BO1s on one day who the fuck thought this is a good idea?? they should just stop

15 BO1s on 3 streams (so 5 BO1s) is almost nothing more than a regular tournament with 16 teams you guys are just finding more ways to hate BLAST at this point

the whole event just feels like a rushed clusterfuck with no meaning. i'd be okay with it being a annual or bi-annual thing or something, just like summit e.g. but blast/rfrsh is just trying too hard to take over the scene witih their "refreshing" shit format. its not exciting or interesting at all.

look at the name BLAST, it is supposed to be a quick and fun tournament, without a meaning, it is just supposed to be a tournament where you can watch usually the best teams in one of the 3 matches, no one cares about the winning aspect of it i personally find it interesting as it is not long and boring i like the fact that we have different types of tournaments that lets cs to have a wider audience
2019-07-02 19:57
It's really fun as a live spectator tho, which it was designed for
2019-07-03 11:29
also it seems like its 15BO1s on 2 streams with the exception of the last 3 BO1s, where they are 3 simultaneously
2019-07-02 19:56

didnt see that but it just gives teams more time between and therefore the opportunity to rest between the matches
2019-07-02 19:58
Ticket price went from $30 to $100. (old venue to new one). Blast is BS and should be avoided like the plague.

2019-07-08 12:10
Sucks for us EU viewers. Could have been earlier in my opinion. I know it’s west coast but still. At least make it 12:00 AM instead of 4 AM when no one will watch it.
2019-07-10 13:37
I thinks they made this change so that MIBR does not have to waste one more day. Instead of playing 2 days and going 0-5, they will go 0-5 in one day. More time to bootcamp.
