NRG beat FaZe to secure playoffs spot in Cologne

NRG have moved past FaZe with a 2-0 victory (Mirage 16-11, Overpass 16-12), securing a spot in Group A's upper final match against Liquid.

The last series of day one at ESL One Cologne began on Mirage, with FaZe getting off to an amazing start on the T side after Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer gave them the pistol round with a triple. Their 5-0 lead was quickly negated, however, as a double-AWP setup on Tarik "tarik" Celik and Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov turned the tide, setting off a massive streak for the North American side, who went on to clinch a 9-6 half, in the end.

With Nikola "NiKo" Kovač at the helm this time, FaZe secured another pistol round on the back of the Bosnian's three kills in B defense. NRG quickly replied in the following as Ethan "Ethan" Arnold put up a triple of his own, pushing his team to 13 rounds. Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz & co. didn't take long to reach map point, and although an improved defense saw FaZe close the gap to four, Ethan put the final nail in the coffin with a 1v3 clutch for 16-11.

NRG move on to Group A's upper final, where they'll take on Liquid

The action moved on to Overpass, where the roles were reversed compared to Mirage, as NRG were the ones to run away with the first portion of the map with six in a row on the Terrorist side. FaZe tightened up the A defense with Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács picking up a couple of key multikills, which set up the European squad for a good half after all, as they only conceded one more en route to an 8-7.

stanislaw's men regained their lead with another pistol round win and kept controlling the proceedings despite losing the first gunround, with the Canadian in-game leader clutching a 1v1 on the way to a 13-9 lead. FaZe put up a decent effort to come back, but an eco victory on A and Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte's triple swung the map in favor of NRG, who then went on to claim a 16-12, 2-0 win and a spot in the playoffs.

Can't really put the blame on anyone especially. Everyone was between mediocre and bad
2019-07-02 23:57
Neo doesnt fit FaZe, and tbh, ResidentSleeper doesnt either. There is absolutely 0 hype behind them, just some barely audible clapping.

NRG looks amazing with Stainslaw. NA csgo is definitely competitive again. Very excited to see another top 4 finish and maybe soon, a huge win. Faze, Neo isn't the one, mixwell is available for trial. Find a solid IGL.
2019-07-03 00:12
You watching a different game than me? Stanislaw was posting same type of #s that Daps was and they look literally exactly the same but Brehze was going off today, kid is a beast.
2019-07-03 00:21
nah Daps was way less impactful and had a worse rating
2019-07-03 00:52
I mean they switched one bot for the other nothing changed, Brehze and Ethan had some good maps so they were able to win, guy above is acting like stanislaw took them to the next level.

The moment Faze kicked karrigan, they doomed themselves.
2019-07-03 04:14
NEO time to retire.
2019-07-03 05:34
I am sad for GuardiaN now
2019-07-03 07:48
NEO ruining his legend status by humiliating himself with awful performances over and over. Just retire and keep some dignity, you can’t compete at the top.
2019-07-03 08:17
Neo is definitely not the problem but he will end up taking the blame I'll say olof is the smartest player on the team ( because he has the plenty of experience to be an igl , but he won't accept that duty . coz that will make him play for the team and not for himself , therefore he is always in the safe zone coz he ends up having the kills he needs to be protected from the blame of loosing ) Niko and rain go hand in hand ... If niko gets the frags rain by default performs well ...and vice versa ... Now since niko took the igl and degraded on his impact in game ...rain is nowhere to be found ... Guardian has always been a safe awper ever since his navi days ... He'll hardly take the role to get the entry frags like fallen or kennyS .. which results in matches where he hardly enters double digits... Even if you bring s1mple in this team it won't do anygood .. coz faze has 4 players who already are way in their head of being Gods of CS. Thanks #karrygan for leaving faze and letting the world see how good they really are without an igl.
2019-07-03 08:56
His individual performance is extremely poor (will probably have the worst rating of all pro players in a top30 team if he continues like this), and the team has just got even worst together with him since he joined. If he's not the problem he is most definitely not the solution.
2019-07-03 09:17
Thats the main issue right now ...these 4 players don't really get along with a new 5th player .. Neo has had a better rating than niko ever since he joined ...faze jst give communication issues to be the reason for their loss ...while when you see the game they have been playing ...they are loosing the rounds due to the mistakes been made by players on their individual level .. Even if they kick out neo Do u think the faze clan that karrygan had will ever return? People now talk about ence vs astralis Or astralis vs liquid in the finals Earlier it was always faze vs some team in the finals . They won iem chicago with a stand in and that too xizt (another igl and not the best aimer) in place of olof .. beating astralis in the finals I think this in itself is enough to say these 4 aren't really the best as people say ..
2019-07-03 09:23
Lol, TLDR
