ESL One Cologne 2019 Fantasy recap

Following the conclusion of the $300,000 tournament, we turn towards the Fantasy game to see who the best performing teams and players were.

While selecting players for their teams ahead of ESL One Cologne 2019, users were spoiled for choice, with 14 out of the top 16 teams in attendance. However, there were few surprises in terms of big performers.

The Danish duo was crucial in the Cologne Fantasy

Breaking the bank for Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut ($246,000) was worth it, as the French prodigy brought in 242 points, with that number going up to 305 if he was assigned the AWP role. Three of the cheaper picks from favored teams, Liquid and Astralis, performed admirably as well: Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen, Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth and Nick "nitr0" Cannella. Rounding out the ideal lineup was a budget pick from NiP, Jonas "Lekr0" Olofsson ($168,000).

The best lineup would bring in 1055 if paired with the ideal roles:

France Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut (AWP) 242 + 63 = 305 pts
Denmark Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen (Support) 211 + 36 = 247 pts
Denmark Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth (Defender) 180 + 50 = 230 pts
United States Nick "nitr0" Cannella (Leader) 94 + 60 = 154 pts
Sweden Jonas "Lekr0" Olofsson (Stathunter) 94 + 25 = 119 pts

That exact lineup wasn't selected by any of the users reaching top 10 in the HLTV League, with many opting for Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev over ZywOo. The best-scoring player, Newb1e, combined four Astralis members together with nitr0, and outperformed the second-placed BlakeC thanks to better usage of his boosters (9/14 successful).

Turkey Newb1e (964)

Looking at the top 10 best performing players, aside from the aforementioned ones, we can find Nicolai "device" Reedtz, Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte, and Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov, with the biggest surprise being Benjamin "blameF" Bremer, Heroic's IGL score 111 points ($197,000).

1. France Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut: 242 points
2. Denmark Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen: 211 points
3. Denmark Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth: 180 points
4. Denmark Emil "Magisk" Reif: 176 points
5. Ukraine Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev: 174 points
6. United States Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski: 162 points
7. Denmark Nicolai "device" Reedtz: 154 points
8. United States Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte: 121 points
9. Denmark Benjamin "blameF" Bremer: 111 points
10.Bulgaria Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov: 110 points

In the HLTV Confirmed show Draft League, in which we invited Neil "NeiL_M" Murphy and Jamie "keita" Hall, Professeur bounced back and took a win thanks to his selection of three Astralis members.

The Confirmed Cup standings:

1. Croatia Professeur (704)

3. Australia SPUNJ (606)
4. Denmark Producer Lukas (538)

2019-07-09 05:41
Easy - depending with what 2.0 rating the player comes up with, you add points for everything over 1.00 or deduct points how much under 1.00 he played.
2019-07-09 11:48
