NiKo: "[coldzera?] There's nothing going on right now"
We got a hold of Nikola "NiKo" Kovač for a quick couple of comments about recent rumors, Håvard "rain" Nygaard's regrets of kicking Finn "karrigan" Andersen, and FaZe's first win at BLAST Pro Series against NRG.
Some rumors have been going around that coldzera could be joining FaZe at some point and there has been history between you two and plans of joining forces before, can you comment on that?
No, it was just that I made a comment for fun on a picture on Instagram he posted, because we had been together in Belgrade when they came over for Janko's birthday and I just made a stupid comment for fun and people went crazy about it. There's nothing going on right now, we have the Major to play with NEO, so we're just focused on that and we will see what's going to happen.
rain said in an interview in Cologne for VP Esports that he regrets ever kicking karrigan, how does that reflect on NEO at the moment?
Obviously, we aren't having the results we want right now. But we also had bad results with Finn. But there's nothing we can do about it right now, it sucks that we aren't really clicking with NEO right now, but we're trying to figure it out. There are no regrets, we made that choice, we were very well aware of what we would lose by removing karrigan from the team and just have to live with it.
Speaking of results, now that you have beaten NRG in the first match, can you speak to what the improvements have been since Cologne?
I think it's way too early to talk about improvements, it's just a best-of-one that we have won. Yeah, we played a little bit better, but still, we have lost so many antiecos. Now we have less pressure on ourselves because this is just an event where we know that we can win because it's best-of-ones, obviously then there are best-of-threes, but if we play well in the best-of-ones then it can get our confidence back for best-of-threes, as well. We just have no pressure for this event, Cologne was the one that hurt us the most. It's way too early to talk about improvements, we're just going to go best-of-one by best-of-one and we will see.
