TenZ: "Back when I was playing in MDL, I would think that the top teams were unbeatable"
Cloud9's new lineup has so far fulfilled Damian "daps" Steele's wishes of being competitive at BLAST Pro Series, as they have a win over FaZe and a tie with MIBR to their name following four matches in the round robin to stay within contention for a spot in the playoffs.
After the North American side secured the aforementioned victory in the third round, we got another perspective on the new project from the youngster of the squad, TenZ, in a short interview ahead of the fourth round.
What has it been like to join Cloud9 and play alongside some of these legendary names in North America?
Joining Cloud9 is a massive jump up from where I was, I was playing MDL, I didn't really have any prior experience. I played with people like shinobi, ptr, and they taught me teamplay, but there's just so much more I have to learn about the game to compete at this level.
What about the first experience on a big stage like this, does it affect you?
I'm not really getting nervous, but I have adrenaline, basically, I'm just hyper.
Getting thrown into a completely different level, have there been any surprises for you in terms of how the top teams or players are playing?
Back when I was playing in MDL and stuff, I would think that the top teams were unbeatable and that they're indestructible, but... they're five guys on a team and they're playing the same game as me.
daps said that his goal was to be at least competitive here, are you guys happy with how things have been going so far?
Yeah, we're happy. We didn't go into the event expecting to win, we were going into it and we just wanted to be competitive, make it hard matches.
