NAF wins BLAST Pro Series LA MVP award

Keith "NAF" Markovic was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of BLAST Pro Series Los Angeles by and betway.

The Canadian player scooped the award after leading Liquid to their fifth title of the year with an impressive 1.40 rating, his highest-ever at a Big Event.

NAF, who was Liquid's top performer on five of the nine maps that the team played in Los Angeles, was the frontrunner in the race for the MVP award heading into the last day of the event and did not disappoint in the playoffs (1.23 rating), capping a superb individual tournament with a jaw-dropping pistol ace on Inferno against FaZe.

NAF proudly exhibits his latest MVP medal

He was top of the pile in eight stats categories besides rating, including ADR (97.0), kills per round (0.84) and opening duel success (70.2%), and featured in the top five in five other leaderboards, most notably KAST (77.6%).

It is the fifth time NAF has been the recipient of an MVP award in his career. He won his first four at SL i-League Invitational Shanghai 2017 (while with Renegades), cs_summit 2, SuperNova CS:GO Malta and iBUYPOWER Masters 2019.

HLTV and BLAST are clearly not very fond of Twistzz. Every event they win, he is sooo good, still NAF and Elige get the MVPs.

So even though he's statistically worse, twistzz should get one also because he's sooo good?

dude you CANT be seruious lmao...twistzz didnt deserve that mvp once.
2019-07-15 07:40
Instead of being biased how about you look at the huge difference in stats compared to NAF (and Elige in previous events). Most of he time they are 0.1 rating above him overall. Twistzz is great, but in a team like Liquid, it's hard to stand out.

I am not biased, but still, the man is performing so well overall, he should get at least 1.

An MVP isn't an "overall" reward, that's what the top 20 is for. If you're really unbiased you should realise his teammates deserved the MVP more than him at each of these events. He was very good but they were better

I guess i was misunerstood, I am not taking anything away from NAF, he is a really good player, so is Elige or Stewie but i think Twitzz is the best player of the team atm.

"HLTV and BLAST are clearly not very fond of Twistzz" "I am not biased" "i think Twitzz is the best player of the team atm." vs top10/5 on lan mvps naf:2 elige:2 twistzz:1 twistzz is most likely 3rd best performing player this year in liquid but sure, you arent biased with statement that he is the best player in liquid at all lmao...

I mean, your evidence doesn't help your argument much. In one set he's got nearly 20 more frags than both Elige and NAF. The other he has nearly 100 more than NAF, and only 2 less than Elige. You needed to show the full rating breakdown to show the difference, where you see all the stats. Because I agree with you, but that filter doesn't help your case.

"20 nearly more frags" Rating 2.0 isn't only about frags and k/d... And this game isn't about it either (Jame). Rating 2.0 consider also other aspects like kast, adr, impact(multi kills, entry kills), etc. That's why it's more accurate than just frag count

You needed to read past the first paragraph where I told you to show the breakdown rather than simply rating and k/d for the very reasons you just listed.

Dude I don't actually understand you I guess :D I mean it was you who were talking only about frags and I showed you 2.0 ratings that consider much more aspects... I'm tired so it's maybe my bad but I think that my reasoning is good tbh haha. Sorry for my bad English btw

No. Actually, you're fine. I realized that it's because this shit on mobile is totally retarded and wouldn't show the comparison. I'd have to screenshot it, but all it showed was K/D difference and rating, and nothing else. So basically I'm retarded and you posted what I said you should. Not your fault!

Didn't even bother to watch this event. Literally one elite team there, pointless. Liquid, world class. NRG, ok team, but routinely disappoint. FaZe, likely changing lineup soon, look poor with neo. Renegades have been shit since Grat had to take a break for visa issues. Cloud9 are a new lineup with no pracc. MIBR fielded their coach. They may as well have just handed Liquid the title and not bothered to play it out.

'big event' tho, haha
2019-07-15 11:10
I didn't bother to watch too for the same reasons. The only exciting thing would have been watching the Cloud9 lineup and see how they're performing. Tim is an insane player with rifles and I'm glad daps told him so. Also the poor scheduling for EU didn't help either.

Exaclty. Only watched two C9 matches and in Fl0m's Twitch. Blast is a joke of a CS tournament. Matches are literally showmatches. How many clips did I watched this morning of Zeus plays throughout the event where everyone was laughing about it? It's just not a serious event and shouldnt be treated as such. Nothing to take away from Liquid though. They're miles away from anyone else right now and all three Elige, Twistzz and NAF are top5 right now for me
