CR4ZY to attend Arctic Invitational; NRG withdraw

CR4ZY have been confirmed to compete at the Arctic Invitational, joining FURIA on the team list, while NRG withdraw due to scheduling conflicts.

The one-day Arctic Invitational in Helsinki, Finland, will now have CR4ZY competing for the $100,000 prize pool. The European squad join FURIA on the tournament's roster while NRG, the first invited team to the event, have announced they are pulling out of the tournament due to scheduling conflicts.

nexa & co. will attend the Arctic Invitational in Finland

CR4ZY, who have the Finnish AWPer Otto "ottoNd" Sihvo on their roster, are currently ranked #18 in the world, and were just one map win away from qualifying to ESL One New York through the EU qualifier, although they eventually lost the final's decider, Train, to G2.

Now, CR4ZY are getting ready to kick off their Minor run as they are slated to play their group A opening match against Sprout in Berlin.

The tournament, which will take place at the Hartwall Arena on September 14th, will feature one more invited team to take NRG's place as well as one Finnish team from a local qualifier, which will take place next month at Tubecon 2019.

With the addition of CR4ZY and the subtraction of NRG, the team list is the following:

Scheduling problems???? NRG have been invited since katowice major, how tf they have scheduling problems with this? Arrogant NA team once again...
2019-07-16 22:56
What's the target audience for this tournament? As a finn who watches cs from lowest tiers to the highest i wont bother attending this even if i got the tickets for free.
2019-07-16 23:23
Let's get cr4zy k1ds
2019-07-16 23:58
I want to see C9 , they don't have any tournaments coming up for them except the remaining BLAST contests for this season
2019-07-16 23:58
C9 would be sick, would totally go even though right now I dont think I´m gonna go.

2019-07-17 02:25
Kinda sad tbh. NRG, Furia, Ence & SJ/Havu could have been a decent tournament.

its a possibility only thing i could think of is maybe the major that goes to september 8th. but if they chose to skip arctic for the major, that means theyre expecting themselves to qualify and go thru the legends stage and to playoffs
2019-07-17 11:36
Yep, or they'll attend Dreamhack Masters Malmö later, so by skipping this they'll have time to rest after the major...

Dead scene, a tournament with 4 fucking teams and none are highly regarded :D
2019-07-17 11:48
Is it about the scene though? Being a 4 team tournament is just anticlimax from the beginning and only having the absolute top team would correlate it imo.
2019-07-18 11:47
The scene is dead. The Finnish scene is literally only Ence and their support. SJ and HAVU can't even get into tier 2 events, sometimes even tier 3. This time they have an instant bye into this tournament where they will most likely be last. Healthy but underachieving scenes currently are Sweden and France, which both get notable tournaments with the top teams. There's no real comparison to be made, Finland doesn't have a CS- scene.
2019-07-18 12:32
If u think it as a whole, the scene is getting better all the time, for example if u compare it to what we had even 2 years ago. That's why it's a bit strange to call it dead imo. i say this as an outsider though, no experience playing inside the finnish sub-top.
