North outclass BIG; CR4ZY defeat Sprout
The opening match in Group B was a painful reminder to BIG fans of how far the team have fallen. The German side continue to struggle with an identity crisis, and inside the server nothing seems to be working for them. Against North, the highest-ranked side in attendance at the Minor, it was almost like watching a game between teams from completely different levels, which does not bode well for BIG's chances of making it out of the groups in Berlin.
A trio of kills by Denis "denis" Howell in the pistol round put BIG in the lead, with the German side following that up with another round. But once North had money in the bank, the landscape of the game changed completely. The Danes had their opponents on the ropes for the vast majority of the half, cruising to an 11-4 lead against a BIG side that shockingly had in denis their biggest fragger, with 17 kills, nine more than any of his teammates.
Things then went from bad to worse for Fatih "gob b" Dayik's troops, who lost the pistol round and the next two, resulting in a massive 4-14 deficit. The German side still attempted a response, but two rounds were all that they could muster as North quickly regained control of proceedings and wrapped things up at 16-6.

Meanwhile, the other German team at the event, Sprout, gave a good account of themselves but still came up short against CR4ZY in a keenly-contested Train game. The former Valiance side had a slow start but improved as the game wore on, going into the break up 9-6 after winning six of the final seven rounds of the half.
Sprout responded by taking the second half pistol, with Timo "Spiidi" Richter then rescuing the team as he clutched a 1v3 situation in an anti-eco round. The German team looked set to run away with the lead, but a successful force buy in the 22nd round turned the tide in CR4ZY's favour. The Serbian team were in control for the rest of the half - apart from a round clutched by Nils "k1to" Gruhne in a 1v3 situation - and ran out 16-13 victors to lock down a place in the upper bracket final against NoChance.
