Sharks bench nak, RCF; announce NA plans
Both players have been transfer listed by Sharks as the Portuguese organisation look to fine-tune the squad in the aftermath of a fourth-place finish at the Americas Minor.
The news marks the end of one of the most stable lineups in the scene, with a roster that had been untouched since March 2018. nak was one of the original members of the team, who signed for Sharks in July 2017, while RCF linked up with the squad eight months later after playing in North America with Gorilla Core.
"After a long time with this lineup, we feel this is the right time for changes," team coach Hélder "coachi" Sancho told HLTV.org.
"nak and RCF are great players, and we deeply appreciate everything they have done for Sharks, but we felt that this was the right time to bring in some fresh blood and try to reach a new level. We are open to offers for the players, and prospective organisations can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
"We are still evaluating our options regarding the new players. For now, there is nothing done.
After splitting their time between Brazil and Portugal in the last two years, Sharks will begin a new chapter in September as they will be moving to North America to continue their development.
The Brazilian team ended 2018 on a high, reaching the 22nd place in the rankings after placing 9th-12th at the ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals and 3rd-4th at PLG Grand Slam 2018. They have failed to reach those lofty heights again, however, and have been outside the top 30 since February.
"We decided it was better for us to move our team to the United States so we can play with lower ping and fight to attend all the big tournaments in the world," coachi added.
"The new lineup will come to Europe for a bootcamp before moving to the US for the next tournament season."
