This tournament was so bad lol Also the fact that they only had a crowd of 200 people is hilarious. Blast is so bad and hopefully they have less events in 2020.

im saying this event was fun for those in attendance and saying the 200 attendance is hilarious is like comparing a highschool hockey game to the stanley cup finals. its not supposed to be a fucking massive event and it doesnt mean people cant enjoy it
2019-08-04 20:11
What do you mean it's not supposed to be a massive event? They force the best teams in the world into attending the events, the prize pool is massive for a 2 day shitshow, and it is marketed as a big event as well. They try to compete with ESL's events and the biggest dreamhacks and so. It is treated as a big event on HLTV as well. Just because the format is laughable and the event is short, it doesn't mean that what they achieved with the tournament is nothing compared to what others could achieve with that kind of backing. Instead they need to play crowd sounds from other events to make it feel like they're not a complete flop. How do you think the investors feel? They sank millions of dollars into a series that was supposed to feature the best teams, locking the best team at that time into a 'shit event only' prison, and what they got in return was a series that pulls 200 viewers into a massive stage. If it's not meant to be a massive event, hold it in a hotel lobby or some shit that seats 500.

How are they "forcing" teams to play this tournament? XD
2019-08-05 10:44
They get a contract to attend about ? 5? blasts events... That's how they "force" them to play the tournaments...

I think cloud 9 and nip got it aswell, like a condition to get there. Correct me if i am wrong.

The crowd in an event truly doesn't matter for participants. The teams challenge one another to win the pot, not to stand there in the middle of 200 or even 1,000+ people. Also, they aren't exactly "forced". Most teams are invited with a chance at winning the big pot and especially in CSGO, $200,000+ pot prize is a huge amount especially for the top teams in the world because CSGO tournaments are relatively small to begin with (compare to fortnite, dota, LoL, and etc). So overall, no matter how big or small the crowd was, the event was still successful in doing what they needed to do.
2019-08-07 01:24
They needed to lose millions of dollars with the blast series? Also telling teams they have to play in 5 out of 7 tournaments in this case is 'forcing', especially if you take into consideration that they deliberately announce the events very late (compared to normal orgs) and they put them near other big events to compete with them. But I guess if you were a player you'd also be fine with skipping Cologne and going to blast Petropavloszk-Kamcsatszkij because the money is 'the same'
