FURIA sign academy roster
After releasing their previous academy roster at the start of the year, FURIA have announced the signing of a new band of Brazilians under the FURIA Academy banner.
Among the signed players is 16-year-old Olavo "heat" Marcelo, who most recently competed for Falkol in the StarLadder Major Americas Minor South America Closed Qualifier, managing a 9-12th placing following losses to Isurus and Reapers.
Alongside heat, Vinicius "vn" Ramos and coach Leonardo "msr" Caixeta were brought on board, while the final trio of players were signed following tryouts: Marcelo "PLEEtS" Leite, Rodrigo “proSHOW” Guluzian and Gabriel “skN” Lijenko.

The signing of the players marks FURIA Academy's third roster, with a number of notable names previously competing under the banner including FURIA's very own Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato, Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo, and Rinaldo "ableJ" Moda Junior. DETONA and W7M players Matheus "Tuurtle" Anhaia and Antonio "realz1n" Oliveira also played on the roster in 2018 before making their way to their current teams.
In a statement on their website, FURIA CEO Jamie Padua commented that “the goal of the FURIA Academy project is to have a strong team also on national soil and provide opportunities for players to break into the competitive landscape of the sport.”
FURIA Academy will debut next week when they compete in the GamersClub Open League with the following roster:
Olavo "heat" Marcelo
Marcelo "PLEEtS" Leite
Vinicius "vn" Ramos
Rodrigo “proSHOW” Guluzian
Gabriel “skN” Lijenko
Leonardo "msr" Caixeta (Coach)
