ENCE sign suNny; Aleksib to be benched after Major
ENCE have confirmed the signing of suNny as reported earlier this month by Dexerto, which will mark his return to activity since stepping down from mousesports' starting five in March following a restructuring of the team.
The move will also be suNny's return to ENCE, where he played as early as 2013 while still a teenager with the likes of Aleksi "allu" Jalli and Joona "natu" Leppänen before going on to break out in the international circuit with PENTA at the 2017 PGL Major in Krakow.
suNny then signed with mousesports and went on to be named the 16th best player in the world in 2018, a year in which he won StarSeries i-League Season 4, V4 Future Sports Festival, and ESL One New York. He will now make his debut donning the ENCE jersey at BLAST Pro Series Moscow in September.
Aleksib is the player to be removed from the active roster to make room for the new acquisition, and has been be put on the transfer list. The 22-year-old Finn was an integral part of ENCE's second-place breakout run at the IEM Katowice Major earlier this year as well as their StarSeries i-League Season 6 Finals and BLAST Pro Series Madrid wins as the team's in-game leader.
I've been benched from ENCE. This came out of the blue for me, and at first it hurt. Now, I just have to deal with it. Despite the hardships, such as a failure at a tournament or having differing opinions, we were still able to stay on the right path and reach success.
We built this team from scratch. I'm proud to say that I was a part of the team's growth from being potential to being elite. This has been a rewarding journey for me and now it's coming to a close.
Next up is the Berlin Major -- it will be the my last tournament with ENCE. Regardless of that, I hope we make it look EZ one more time.
I want to thank the whole team and ENCE's management for the last 17 months. I'll remember the laughs and good times. And also a huge thanks to all the fans for the ongoing support. Your encouragement has been important to me.
As for my future, I'm eager to continue playing. I've learned a lot, which I want to put in use for whatever comes next.
I'm open for international offers. You can contact me via Twitter DM / email: firstname.lastname@example.org or ENCE's management regarding my contract.
When the changes come into effect after the Major, ENCE's roster will be:
Slaava "Twista" Räsänen (coach)
Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen (benched)
