AVANGAR, CR4ZY close out round one with wins over Complexity, Grayhound

AVANGAR have outlasted Complexity on Inferno, while CR4ZY came back from behind to beat Grayhound 16-13 on Nuke to close out the first Swiss round.

Complexity seemed to be off to a good start after securing the first two rounds of Inferno, however once AVANGAR got rifles into their hands the game turned into a messy back and forth battle. Just as one team began to pull ahead of the other, a quick push up banana from Alexey "qikert" Golubev and a stellar defensive set up from Rory "dephh" Jackson and co. would make the game tied again. Both sides put in their all to try and gain a lead, with the first half ending with Complexity just barely ahead at 8-7.

buster shone on Inferno for AVANGAR

The North American team opened up the final half of Inferno with their second pistol round victory of the game, and thanks to quick work from Hunter "SicK" Mims and Owen "oBo" Schlatter gained a lead of 10-7. From there the map continued in a similar fashion to that of the first half, with AVANGAR easily coming back and tying up the game thanks to a 1v2 clutch from Dzhami "Jame" Ali. The amazing work of AVANGAR's AWPer put a halt to the plans of Complexity and despite their best efforts, the Kazakh side proved to be the better team as they closed out the map 16-13.

The final match of the first Swiss round began with a very one-sided battle on Nuke. Grayhound opened up the map with a victory on the pistol round thanks to a 3k from Liam "malta" Schembri. From there, the firepower of Christopher "dexter" Nong's team continued to rain down upon the players of CR4ZY as the Australian team's defense proved to be too strong for the T-side to contest, with the half ending 11-4 in Grayhound’s favor.

CR4ZY came back to win Nuke against Grayhound

With the second pistol round now under their belt, Grayhound seemed set to close out the map. However, a force buy from the players of CR4ZY caught the Australian team off-guard as Rokas "EspiranTo" Milasauskas ripped through their offense to secure his team a fifth round. From there, CR4ZY slowly gained their confidence back as the gap between themselves and Grayhound all but disappeared, as the game was tied at 12-12. The confidence shown by dexter and co. in the first half completely vanished as CR4ZY continued to dismantle them and their comeback proved to be a success as they secured Nuke 16-13.
