NRG edge past Renegades in New Legends Stage opener

NRG were able to close out their first match of the New Legends Stage in the last round, 16-14, to start off with a 1-0 record.

Ethan "Ethan" Arnold’s good form from the New Challengers Stage spilled over to the New Legends Stage, as he opened Dust2 with three defensive kills to help his team take the pistol round. Renegades then bought the forcebuy, shifting the economy early on, but once again Ethan made a heroic play opening the third round with two 5-7 kills in lower tunnels to once again help NRG win a round. NRG were able to take the early momentum, winning the first gun round and going up 5-1. Renegades then got a few rounds in of their own on the attack, but NRG showed their superiority closing it out 10-5 before switching to the Terrorist side.

NRG go 1-0 after defeating Renegades

Renegades started the second half off on the right foot thanks to four kills by Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad in the pistol round. With the economic advantage, the Oceanian team managed to bring it to 9-10, but lost to a B rush in a pistolbuy from NRG. Renegades then took the following thanks to a double AWP setup by Sean "Gratisfaction" Kaiwai and Justin "jks" Savage, but NRG were able to win another round on A after a timeout. Renegades tied it 12-12 as the match entered its final stages, and both teams stayed shoulder to shoulder until the very last round, when Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte was able to win a 1vs1 against jkaem to seal the deal 16-14 for NRG.

I think RNG's bootcamp will get them good results at this major, just like at the last major
2019-08-28 15:45
Excuse me?! Are you being salty right now? :D Edit: I am so sorry, I though you wrote NRG, and not RNG. But yes, I think RNG will get at least to the playoffs.

Taking NRG to 16-14 is a good performance indeed I don't think that they'll make it to playoffs but they should 1 or 2 wins

If they do a similar bootcamp to the one before the Katowice major, they can get some wins.

How is NRG overrated ? They have 3 players ranking in the top 10 players from the Minor . Ethan and Cerq were #1 and #2. They practice their asses off and it kills me when someone always comments that “NA are lucky”. It ain’t luck ! It’s skill and dedication .
