Liquid eliminate North to advance to New Legends final round

Despite facing elimination heading into the fourth day of play, Liquid had little difficulty moving past North as they claimed a 2-0 victory to eliminate the Danes and advance to the fifth round of play.

After suffering defeats to AVANGAR and NRG in the past two days, tournament favourites and current No.1 team in the world Liquid had their backs against the wall heading into their fourth matchup as they faced elimination. The Danish side of North were also looking to fight back as they had started the New Legends stage 0-2 following losses to Vitality and MOUZ, with the two teams meeting on Mirage to kick off the series.

A dominant start on the offense saw Liquid open up the map with six consecutive round wins, although North continued to pick up kills to keep the North America side's economy in check. A quad kill by Nicklas "gade" Gade was what finally put the first round on the board for North, with the team snowballing off of their victory to keep Liquid at bay and edge out a one-round lead at halftime.

nitr0 and company remain in the running heading into the final day

Liquid got back to their winning ways as they regained the lead with a trio of rounds following the side swap. North answered back by securing four of the ensuing five rounds to pull ahead 12-11, but Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski refused to allow the Danes to maintain their edge as he picked up a triple kill to tie up the match. Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken took three kills of his own in the following round as Liquid stabilized, with Nick "nitr0" Cannella finding a quad kill with his AWP to close out the map 16-12.

A similar start on North's pick of Dust2 saw Liquid take a 3-0 lead to start the map, with North managing only one round in reply before a pistol buy from the North American side allowed for them to push up to seven rounds of their own. An ace by Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye alongside a handful of multi-kill rounds from both him and gade gave North the opportunity to close the gap by five rounds, but Liquid still maintained a 9-6 lead as the sides swapped over.

A stalwort defense by Liquid kept North at bay as EliGE and Twistzz helped their side rack up round wins, keeping North locked out for the remainder of the map as Liquid cruised to a 16-6 finish.

He's clearly not at his best form, but since he joined team liquid he has never been the star player who gets all the kills. He's mainly there for support and big impact kills and even though hes under performing, he's the one keeping the morale up when they lose to fucking avangar

I don't want him to be their star player, they have enough stars, but his style makes them lose important rounds and he's playing very risky and sometimes with zero brain which is very annoying to watch as a Liquid fan. He needs to be more responsible , it's not a matchmaking game... it's a fucking major

His contribution to most rounds (excluding major) outweighs bad games imo

I agree, he is very good as a support player as well as gathering info when able to.
