Arctic Invitational match-ups and schedule announced

Initial match-ups and scheduling have been announced for the $115,000 Arctic Invitational.

Among participants are three invited teams - CR4ZY, FURIA and Cloud9, as well as local side, SJ, who advanced to the tournament via a first place finish at the Finnish Championships 2019. Opening up the tournament will be a series between the Americas representatives, followed by a face off between CR4ZY and SJ. Winners of the respective matches will advance to the finals, taking place after the second semi-final concludes.

arT and co. will face Cloud9 in the opening series of the tournament

The Arctic Invitational is a one-day LAN event, taking place at the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland on Saturday, September 14. Here, four squads will duke it out in a single-elimination, best-of-three format in looks to secure the lion's share of a sizeable $115,000 prize pool.

Below are the match-ups and a comprehensive schedule for the Arctic Invitational:

Saturday, September 14
11:00 - Brazil FURIA vs. North America Cloud9 | BO3
15:00 - Serbia CR4ZY vs. Finland SJ | BO3
20:00 - Grand final | BO3

With this mathup there will be at least one Finnish player in the final for sure, so there is something for the main stream spectators to support. I understand why they did it, but I kind of don't like it. If the event is financially successful, they can make it better the next year.

We dont need Finnish player in main stream if they aren't good they dont deserve ti be here
2019-09-05 04:56
Yes I agree, but nobody (from Finland) would come to the event if the final was (the current) mibr vs furia etc. I think the price money is good for all attending teams attending, so overall this is good for CS. If tje event is success, then it is possible to make it more competitive, but now the risks are too big.

2019-09-04 19:27
I will be there in the CSGO FanZone. But lets not judge just yet. There are alot of big names organizing the event and this event has the potential to make a name for itself. Also as the companies behind this are competing for the "crown" amongst the esports scene in Finland, they cant afford to flop this out. Someday we might even have a bigger international event organized by ESL or Starladder as the scene gets bigger.

Shame that SJ has been thinking they would face Furia and have trained based on that information. Dont understand why they got against CR4ZY since their rank is lower than Furias... Furia would have been beatable for them but I think CR4ZY is just on too good mood right now to even lose a map against SJ
