MVP PK part ways with trio

MVP PK have waved goodbye to Hyun-Pyo "XigN" Lee, Hae-Sung "HSK" Kim and Hong-Gyo "Jinx" Jung, the players have announced on social media.

The South Korean trio left MVP PK following the expiry of their contracts and have banded together to form a new team together with veteran Keun-Chul "solo" Kang and 18-year-old talent Jong-Min "Lakia" Kim, formerly of GOSU.

XigN had been with MVP PK since November 2017, when he transitioned to the team from the organisation's other squad, MVP Project. For most of that time, he played alongside HSK, who had a seven-month stint with GOSU before returning to the team in March alongside Jinx - who took a backup role in the roster - and Gu-Taek "stax" Kim.

XigN leaves MVP PK and starts his own squad with two teammates

These departures follow a series of disappointing results on LAN from the South Korean side. After going out 9th-12th at IEM Sydney and 13th-16th at ESL One Cologne, MVP PK finished in third place at the Asia Minor, where they were outclassed by Grayhound and TYLOO. The team still two more chances to qualify for the StarLadder Major but wasted them as they lost to North and INTZ in the Minor-Play-In.

Contacted by HLTV.org, MVP PK said that a statement regarding the future of the squad will be issued next week. The team will be taking part in the Asian closed qualifier for IEM Beijing, scheduled for September 30 - October 1, and in the ESL Pro League Season 10 Asia-Pacific, kicking off October 8.

With these exits, MVP PK are now left with the following members:

Korea Min-Seok "zeff" Park
Korea Seon-Ho "xeta" Son
Korea Gu-Taek "stax" Kim

Korea Seon-Ho "termi" Pyeon (coach)

As for this new South Korean team, who are now on the lookout for an organisation to represent, their roster is the following:

Korea Hyun-Pyo "XigN" Lee
Korea Hae-Sung "HSK" Kim
Korea Hong-Gyo "Jinx" Jung
Korea Keun-Chul "solo" Kang
Korea Jong-Min "Lakia" Kim

I've seen better pug teams than MVP.PK. I know that dying alone is an Asian thing, but it doesn't really work in a game which relies on teamwork.

Felt like the combination of XigN, xeta and stax could’ve done something special given time, but guess not. Kind of feels like a R.I.P moment but hope that it’ll turn out good

Solo back! These guys should be picked up by an Americann or EU T2 org, move to NA or Europe. Practice their asses off and as a Brazilian Keyd-Stars/Furia move and come on the map like WeMadeFOX days. Damn i miss that time. So interesting to watch their style of play back in the days.. everything is possible today with hard work, dedication and the right backing.
2019-09-07 04:37
