MVP PK part ways with trio
The South Korean trio left MVP PK following the expiry of their contracts and have banded together to form a new team together with veteran Keun-Chul "solo" Kang and 18-year-old talent Jong-Min "Lakia" Kim, formerly of GOSU.
XigN had been with MVP PK since November 2017, when he transitioned to the team from the organisation's other squad, MVP Project. For most of that time, he played alongside HSK, who had a seven-month stint with GOSU before returning to the team in March alongside Jinx - who took a backup role in the roster - and Gu-Taek "stax" Kim.
These departures follow a series of disappointing results on LAN from the South Korean side. After going out 9th-12th at IEM Sydney and 13th-16th at ESL One Cologne, MVP PK finished in third place at the Asia Minor, where they were outclassed by Grayhound and TYLOO. The team still two more chances to qualify for the StarLadder Major but wasted them as they lost to North and INTZ in the Minor-Play-In.
Contacted by HLTV.org, MVP PK said that a statement regarding the future of the squad will be issued next week. The team will be taking part in the Asian closed qualifier for IEM Beijing, scheduled for September 30 - October 1, and in the ESL Pro League Season 10 Asia-Pacific, kicking off October 8.
With these exits, MVP PK are now left with the following members:
Seon-Ho "termi" Pyeon (coach)
As for this new South Korean team, who are now on the lookout for an organisation to represent, their roster is the following:
