Official: Luminosity release roster

Luminosity have confirmed that they are parting ways with their CS:GO lineup, passing on the EPL and ECS spots to the players.

The news comes after a recent report from Mais Esports, and confirms the rumors that the Canadian organization is looking to part ways with their Brazilian roster.

Despite the departure from Luminosity, the players plan to stick together

Luminosity has most recently been seen playing with Felipe "skullz" Medeiros, on loan from W7M, and João "felps" Vasconcellos, a loanee from MIBR. While those two players are still tied to their organizations, the remaining three active players, as well as the benched Henrique "HEN1" Teles and the team's coach Rafael "zakk" Fernandes, are released from their contracts.

You can find the best CSGO betting sites here.

zakk said the following in his TwitLonger:

"Even though 3 of us are free agent right now, it feels like a great opportunity. We finally have the lineup that we want and the teamplay has been perfect.

"We are proud to announce that we are taking ESL Pro League spots for us. Skullz and felps were on loan and are benched on their respective teams, which means we are ready and motivated to kick some ass!

"We are open for negotiation!" - zakk

In addition to that, Luminosity also ceded their ESL Pro League and ECS slots, which now belong to the players and should help them find a new home. At the same time, that hints at a strong possibility of Luminosity not planning to return to CS:GO with a new lineup, albeit that was not confirmed in the announcement.

The ex-Luminosity team now has the following roster:

Brazil Lucas "steel" Lopes
Brazil Gabriel "NEKIZ" Schenato
Brazil Ricardo "boltz" Prass
Brazil João "felps" Vasconcellos (loan from MIBR)
Brazil Felipe "skullz" Medeiros (loan from W7M)

Brazil Rafael "zakk" Fernandes (coach)

Brazil Henrique "HEN1" Teles (free agent)

Yel isn't "so bad", he had been playing as a rifler and calling for the team. Of course if you're the igl and not playing your primary role(awper) you're not going to be as good as before (he has better kd than destiny tho), he's better than maluke for sure. And about nekiz, skullz a gc star who didn't play any lan at all is more experienced than nekiz (a guy with several international lans in his back)?

2019-09-13 18:04
I've actually been a fan of Luminosity since its creation in 2015. Also, in part because it's a Canadian-founded organization. However, the results of this roster and prior iterations have been utterly pathetic and FAR TOO inconsistent for the level of caliber they're capable of. Losing to PUG teams early into tourney qualifiers should NEVER be permitted for a T1/T2 org. It's utterly pathetic and a downright embarrassment. They're undeserving of their high-tier status. Imagine receiving a good salary as a team, just to get beaten by basement-dwelling memelords? Sad. And I honestly wanted nothing more than for them to succeed. I'm very disappointed by how this all turned out.
