AVANGAR take down Na`Vi; forZe, NiP share the spoils
The Kazakhstani side got off to a strong side on the defensive side of Inferno and won six of the initial seven rounds, with Natus Vincere's sole round victory coming on a shoddy buy - a sign that they were struggling to find solutions to break through the Major finalists' defense. Things were starting to look desperate for the Russian team, but they still managed to head into the break on top after dominating proceedings during the final stages of the half.
After switching over to the Terrorist side, AVANGAR put together a string of rounds to halt Na`Vi's momentum. With guns in their possession, the Russian team found some breathing room, but things quickly slipped out of their control. They were forced to operate on a very low economy for the vast majority of the half and had their best performer in Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko - never a good sign for a team that relies so heavily on their star players. Na`Vi were simply helpless to prevent Dzhami "Jame" Ali's charges from running away with the lead as they locked down the map in the 28th round to move into third place in the table.

Meanwhile, forZe were unable to extend their winning start as they were held to a draw by NiP, also on Inferno, on the C stream match. The Russian team came out of the gate looking scary and had the Ninjas against the ropes during the early stages as they raced to a 7-0 lead on the Terrorist side. The Swedish team then finally put their foot down and began to hold back the Russian offense, bringing the deficit to a solitary round before a 1v3 clutch by Bogdan "xsepower" Chernikov put forZe up 9-6.
NiP kept their hopes alive by winning the pistol round and the next two, restoring parity at 9-9. The two teams then fought for control and alternatively went on three-round winning streaks before forZe tightened up their defense, reaching map point at 15-12. They would be unable to close it out, though, as the Swedes showed nerves of steel and twice pulled through in 2v3 post-plant situations, keeping themselves in contention for a spot in the final.
