Unicorns of Love sign trio

Unicorns of Love have announced their new roster, which features three new players.

The German organisation waved goodbye to André "⁠Kirby⁠" Kempa, Markus "⁠maRky⁠" Reitenbach and Denim "⁠DeniMM⁠" Ameti, with the trio having made their last appearance at the 99Damage League Season 12 event, where the team finished runners-up to ALTERNATE aTTaX.

In their place, Unicorns of Love signed expert duo Andreas "⁠Andyy⁠" Schäfer and Jon "⁠JDC⁠" de Castro, as well as former Virtus.pro member Michal "⁠OKOLICIOUZ⁠" Glowaty. The trio have joined up with Christian "⁠crisby⁠" Schmitt and Oliver "⁠kzy⁠" Heck, who remain on the roster from the previous lineup.

The Polish player has spent most of his career in Germany, representing teams like DIVIZON, PANTHERS and EURONICS before earning a move to Virtus.pro. He is hoping to put the experience that he garnered while playing under Poland's most decorated team to good use in this new challenge to help the squad rise through the ranks.

"I decided to come back to the German scene as I still live in Germany and it is easier for me to bootcamp so I do not have to travel to another country every month, which isn't a problem at all, it's just all easier," OKOLICIOUZ told HLTV.org.

"UOL is a well-known organization, but the most important thing is the roster I'm going to play in and the potential it has. We were able to create probably one of the best rosters in Germany right now in my opinion. We've got a perfect mix of experience, talent and raw individual skill.

"Andyy and JDC are the hottest up-and-coming duo you can get at the moment talent-wise, and with kzy and crisby we have got two experienced support players and probably the best tacticians I have ever played with so far.

"I never have high expectations when joining a new team but if everything clicks well, I think it should be a matter of time before we become a top 30 team. Besides that, we want to win the German championships (ESL Meisterschaft & 99Damage League) and qualify for MDL."
