DreamHack Delhi Invitational announced with $55,000 prize pool
DreamHack has partnered with NODWIN Gaming and Viacom18 to present DreamHack Delhi, featuring an invitational tournament with $55,000 in cash prizes.
The DreamHack festival will return to Asia for its second edition following the success of last year's Mumbai stop. This time, New Delhi has been selected as the host city for the event, which will be held from December 6-8 at the NSIC Exhibition Ground.
The DreamHack Delhi Invitational will feature a mix of local teams and international sides. Four squads will receive direct invites to the tournament, joining the winner of the India qualifier and the first-placed team of the ESL India Premiership Fall season.
The format will see the teams split into two groups of three teams, who will face off in a best-of-two round-robin setting, with the top two teams from each group advancing to single-elimination, best-of-three playoffs.
The prize money for the tournament will be distributed as follows:
Bravado won last year's Mumbai Invitational tournament, featuring just four teams and $35,000 in cash prizes, after defeating local side Signify in the final. The core of the South African squad went on to join Denial before signing with ATK, with only two players still remaining in the team, Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek and Johnny "JT" Theodosiou.
In addition to the CS:GO invitational, DreamHack Delhi will feature an array of entertainment such as cosplay, live musical performances and signing sessions with professional players. Furthermore, a list of other competitive titles will be hosted at the venue in Street Fighter V, Super Smash Bros, Tekken 7 and PUBG.
