Na`Vi defeat OpTic to book playoff spot in Malmö; FURIA eliminate ENCE

Natus Vincere have secured a playoff place with a win over OpTic, while FURIA eliminated ENCE from DreamHack Masters Malmö in two maps.

The first matchup kicked off on Dust2, Natus Vincere’s map pick, where OpTic secured an early lead off the back of a triple-kill from Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen on the CT side; but the Danish squad were unable to capitalise on their pistol round success as Natus Vincere hit straight back to storm to a 7-1 advantage on the offence. OpTic looked to have posted their second round of the half, if not for an incredible 2v5 from Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov and Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev, which enabled Natus Vincere to continue running rampant. OpTic eventually picked up an additional round at 2-9, with the sides splitting the remaining rounds as the Danish squad found themselves chasing a 4-11 deficit.

A pinpoint accurate triple-kill from s1mple locked down the pistol for Natus Vincere and the following round also, but a 1v2 clutch from René "cajunb" Borg on the B site provided OpTic with a lifeline. The Danes managed to secure a few more rounds to narrow the score to 13-7 before an Denis "electronic" Sharipov three-piece shut them down. Soon after, a magnificent 4k hold on B from s1mple secured map point, with a 16-8 scoreline following shortly after.

electronic led the charge as Na`Vi secured playoffs spot

OpTic began the second map, Nuke, with a swift 3-0 start before Natus Vincere hit back in the fourth. The two squads then found themselves trading rounds back-and-forth, with Natus Vincere coming out on top as they eventually took the lead at 6-5. cajunb was determined to prevent the half from slipping from their grasp as he won a 1v2 post-plant to level the score, with the Danish side reaching eight rounds soon after. Natus Vincere claimed the last round of the half, ending a substandard CT side with just seven rounds.

The Danes promptly picked up the opening two rounds of the second half off the back of a niko triple-kill to extend their lead to 10-7. Natus Vincere fought back quickly, however, as they soon evened the score out at 10-10. OpTic reclaimed the lead from a 1v3 clutch from Rene "TeSeS" Madsen, but the two squads found themselves in yet another stalemate as they traded blows. Natus Vincere buckled down moving forward, though, as s1mple and co. secured five rounds straight to win the map 16-12, and the series 2-0 to book their spot in the playoffs.

Over on the secondary stream, FURIA opened their Group A elimination match against ENCE with a pistol victory on the offence, subsequently cruising to a 4-0 lead. The two sides then traded blows for four rounds with FURIA coming out on top to extend their advantage to 6-2. ENCE locked down a three-round streak off the back of a pistol buy round to narrow the score difference, but the Brazilian squad replied with a trio of rounds in kind. ENCE claimed the final round of the half, though, hunting down a three-round score difference at the midway point.

As the second half kicked off, the two squads locked horns in a back-and-forth with each side securing two rounds apiece before ENCE stepped up their game to lock down a number of rounds to level the match at 11-11. Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo attempted to keep the score in favour FURIA, but ENCE continued to answer back. The Brazilian side eventually retook the lead at 14-13, with a Yuri "yuurih" Santos triple-kill ensuring map point, and a 16-13 score soon materialising as Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato ended the map with 31 kills.

KSCERATO ended the series with a 1.59 rating

Henrique "HEN1" Teles opened FURIA’s account on Train with a trio of kills on the defence, with Andrei "arT" Piovezan picking up an ace in the following round. ENCE answered back swiftly to level the score, though, with a quad-kill from Jani "Aerial" Jussila giving the Finnish side a 3-2 lead, which was then extended to 5-2. FURIA tightened up their defence moving forward as the score evened up at 6-6 before ENCE once again took the lead. arT locked down a phenomenal ace to swing the tie back into FURIA’s favour as they ended the half with an 8-7 advantage.

ENCE immediately levelled the score as the second half began, but FURIA’s overwhelming firepower enabled the Brazilians to earn an 11-8 lead. The Finnish squad could only muster one round before FURIA hit straight back with a string of three rounds, with arT once again going huge, this time with a trio of kills. From here, FURIA rapidly closed the map out 16-9 to take the series 2-0 and eliminate ENCE from the tournament.

HARD 4 ENCE
2019-10-02 17:48
Hopefully the next 3 weeks (first time ENCE has time to practive with suNny for real) fixes their stuff. These three tournaments in short time with good teams took all the time. Vitality was smart skipping BLAST and having time to prac with shox, ENCE goes without deep preparation. If they fail at the next tournament, then it starts looking worse.
2019-10-02 17:48
They only changed one player... With whom they started to prac 2weeks before the major. And they did not change any roles. Should not be this bad. Seems like it was completely bullshit that allu was leading the team with aleksib in the team. Their contact b -strats are straight from my playbook from MM. PLUS they have played against teams with changes as well (like Furia). Allu is a shit IGL and this change will destroy ENCE like kicking Karrigan destroyed Faze
2019-10-02 17:59
kicking karrigan was needed, not like kicking aleksib after reaching finals of chicago
2019-10-02 18:19
karrigan is a top tier IGL , they kick him for more fire power when they literally got Niko Olof and Guardian? The reason Faze is dead after that is because they have no IGL at all. And now they spend a million for a washed up Brazillian. Karrigan was the problem lmao

They kicked karigan because they was dead before it
2019-10-02 19:39
Major finalist in the most dominating style, only lose to c9 but extremely close was no where dead before it lmao
2019-10-02 19:58
Lol. Braibdeaf? Look at their results not when they start with karrogan, but when they was kicking him
2019-10-03 13:30
Yeah win 0 major and losing to a bunch of tier 2 team? The closest they get to the major is when karrigan is there
2019-10-03 14:00
lol. once again they kicked karrigan because they start to be really bad.
2019-10-03 15:54
And then they become worst lmao, winning a few LAN doesnt prove anything
2019-10-03 16:54
that just means they picked up not right person, not that karrigan shouldnt be kicked
2019-10-03 23:17
Then why would they kick him is my question, they have more than enough fire power, IGL is the only role missing, and kicking one of the best igl wasnt a good idea at all
2019-10-04 17:26
They changed their igl and kept just using old positions without thinking if it works or not for these tournaments. It is true that Aleksib is great igl and imo he should have kept, but new ENCE hasn't even started yet. They made a mistake playing all these leagues imo, now they finally can triple their practice.
2019-10-02 20:11
If it's true that earlier allu was doing midround calls and aleksib was just prepping + calling strats with twista this is not the case at all. On this tournament Twista was allowed to talk on freezetime, so Aleksib's role was "filled". ENCE had terrible midround calls throughout all of these tournaments - something unusual for AleksiB's ENCE. This for me tells that ENCE players talked bullshit about the leadership on the team. But yea, we will see if allu can develope into a decent igl and if suNny can still raise his game to the tier1 star -level. Right now I highly doubt it.
2019-10-02 21:19
I'm sure suNny can but someone else may need to step down from star levels

NaVi added player a week ago = Almost in semifinals (if they beat NIP\GH) ENCE added player almost a month ago = lost 2-0 to Furia who barely beat EnVyUs. What a fucking joke team. AleksiB was the problem

Ok apparently notsoEZ4ENCE, but i am really surprised how all these danish tier2 teams (not just optic) dropped off lately. Will be interesting what they gonna achieve in near future...
2019-10-02 18:27
s1mple needs to go back to awping, even Electronic is out shinning him on rifle every single game this isn't a good look for him.
2019-10-02 18:29
??? Were we watching the same matches? S1mple is looking really good with rifles and he has more freedom now. What is your problem? That electronic was better this match? It's good for team because now they have two insane riflers and two good enough in flamie and Boombl4. GuardiaN is not so good so far but I believe he will get into it again. Their results as a team are good so far.
2019-10-02 18:48
I don't think you understand my point here bro I don't give a shit if he looks good as a rifler etc. He went from dominating to getting carried by electronic on every map, wtf is he doing in 2019? His rifle game is top tier but he can't even out preform his own team mates when he is rifling, his standard and status are way below what they were in 2018. Guardian sucks dick at awping so why not let him rifle? His awping is very poor anyway doesn't matter if he would rifle he would be just as bad so allow that and put s1mple back too the awp where he actually has godlike performances. s1mple is a capable rifle no doubt but he is on another level when he is awping anyone with 2 working eyes in their head can see that.
2019-10-02 18:51
When you think so. S1mple said he wants to play rifle so it's his choice. And if you watched the matches you saw he and GuardiaN were trading the awp and rifle pretty often. This is new Na'Vi where s1mple doesn't have to play awp if he doesn't want to. And as I said it's working so far. I understand you want to see him absolutely beasting as his fan but he is still doing it with rifles.

Mate, no one gives a fuck about your opinion and NaVi certainly won't change anything because of you. S1mple is much better as a hybrid player right now and you're the only dumbass who can't see it. HE is the one who chose this, he said it himself. Guardian is on the team because of him. Get over yourself and deal with it.

Still think they should have replaced Aerial with suNny. Aerial is an entry fragger with 35-42% hs despite him never playing AWP. IMO he is just a subpar aimer at best.
