Na`Vi claim Malmö semi-final spot over NiP

Natus Vincere have defeated NiP 2-0 in the DreamHack Masters Malmö Group B upper bracket final to advance directly to the stadium semi-finals.

A triple kill from Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács helped Natus Vincere get off to a strong start on the offensive end of Overpass, converting against NiP's ensuing force-buy for an early three-round edge. A pair of kills from Jonas "Lekr0" Olofsson and Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg gave the Swedes their first round of the map, but after surviving with only one player, NiP found themselves swiftly reset as Natus Vincere claimed another three-round spree to extend their lead to 6-1.

Back on rifles, NiP answered back with a trio of their own, but were unable to gain the edge in the half as multi-kill rounds from Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev and Denis "electronic" Sharipov kept Natus Vincere ahead 9-6 as the sides swapped over.

NiP began to close the deficit as the second pistol round of the map went their way, also managing to survive the ensuing force-buy from the CIS side despite sustaining heavy losses. Up against a pistol buy from Natus Vincere, the Swedes were in position to even the score, but an early kill and a quick rotation from Natus Vincere allowed for GuardiaN and company to flip the script and put NiP on an eco of their own. From there, Natus Vincere were in full control, completely locking the Swedish side out of the map to take the opener 16-8.

GuardiaN and s1mple's tag-team effort helped Na`Vi secure Overpass

Natus Vincere continued in their winning ways as they took another early lead with a victory in the opening pistol round of Inferno, once again converting the following anti-eco for a 2-0 lead. Double kills from Lekr0 and Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora got NiP their first round on the board and, despite an immediate reply from Natus Vincere, the Swedes were able to stabilize as they won three additional rounds to narrowly pull ahead 4-3.

Three kills by Egor "flamie" Vasilyev allowed for Natus Vincere to swiftly tie things up, with the CIS squad winning three more rounds to regain control. Multi-kills from f0rest and Lekr0 gave NiP the opportunity to claw their way back, fighting for four final rounds to take the lead by the narrowest of margins at halftime.

A pair of frags from s1mple and flamie gave Natus Vincere their third pistol round win of the series, with the CIS side springboarding off the victory to push up to a 14-10 scoreline. A handful of last-minute bombsite hits were halted by NiP as they fought valiantly to keep s1mple and company from attaining match point, with Plopski finding three crucial frags to help allow his team up to 13 rounds. Natus Vincere refused to concede however, securing two final rounds to ensure their spot in the semi-finals with a 16-13 finish.

Flamie doesn't deserve shit, guardian, electronic and s0mple do
2019-10-03 21:09
Are you brain dead or what? Flamie is a god, but he is not in a star role, look at his stats for the inferno game. He is not a top fragger usually but he is a great player and if you watched any of the recent Na'Vi matches you can see he has very high impact.

Let's talk about his career as a whole. He doesn't deserve shit and could be replaced at any time and nip couldn't get worse. He's the fugly of Navi.
2019-10-04 08:28
Obviously didn't watch him in 2016 or whenever when he was one of the star players, Flamie is a great player. The only bots in Na'Vi skill-wise were Edward and Zeus. You realise if you have a team with Electronic, S1mple both high fraggers then the other players are going to get less kills right? There are only so many kills per round, and usually he is given the quieter sites to hold. Therefore he sees fewer enemies and is forced to retake sites where the kills are hardest to get. Now they've added GuardiaN which reduces his ability to get frags even more, but he is still a great player.

Another EZ and calm victory, but not vs very tough opponent. Would be nice to watch Navi vs NA in semis, but all NA teams choked as always without help of home crowd.

...yes. If there's no crowd, then they STILL wouldn't have the help of their home crowd. He's not saying EU teams DID have the help of their home crowd, just that the NA teams DIDN'T.

NaVi-Astralis dominance is back!!!!! Look at them. Both didn't lost a single map coming in to the semis. Hopefully Both of them will be in the Grand Final and we wil finally see the battle of 2 best teams(at least for now)
2019-10-03 20:44
The playoffs are shaping up to look very similar to dreamhack master marseille 2018. NiP vs Fnatic, winner plays astralis. Other side of the bracket is navi mous. Not quite the same but there are definitely a lot of similarities
2019-10-03 20:57
Hopefully final won't be similar to that event. I'm really sick of Astralis winning in past year (even tho a love them as a team) Wanna for NaVi to win something and get back their Top 1 of CIS.

Me personally if Vitality fix some mistakes after the Astralis game they should be at least a final contender
2019-10-03 21:08
Maybe, but i don't think they will be a contender. This team is just an one man army tbh... Ofc they have ZywOo, but NaVi have a such a monsterus team. s1mple, electronic, boom, GuardiaN who stepped up. ZywOo can't win against them solo.
2019-10-03 21:11
Don't forget Flamie, he is always suck a valuable piece, he is way underrated because he is always given the calm bombsites and bad roles. But he is so sharp, even the inferno game vs NiP he carried
2019-10-04 03:50
It's probably not happening, and they need to go through mouz/vitality first. Even so, it would be the upset of the year if they manage to beat astralis on the finals.
2019-10-03 21:53
Man, we only have 6-7 decent teams in cs in general, playoffs are always pretty much the same

2019-10-03 21:12
4sure, but NaVi looking promising. It doesn't look like it was in 2016 when s1mple has joined NaVi. They have strats, have teamplay, great individuals and really great coach (Blad3 is ofc the biggest CIS mastermid) Ofc is just a one event, but i think they have a great shot for Top 3 at least.
2019-10-03 21:17
"they have strats" for a 5 day team. They are looking really rough so far. Which is insane, they are looking much better than with zeus.
2019-10-03 21:54
They probably mentioned they have strats because for some reason Zeus refused to have strats. Watching Na'Vi try to brute-force everything for the last 5 years hurt my soul.
2019-10-04 03:52
B1ad3 mentioned they are playing a very default style trying to find holes on the defense, as they don't have much to work with so far because the team is new. It's working, these are some of the cleanest T sides navi has had for the last few months. The team play is being insane too.
