OpTic to attend ESL Pro League with kwezz
Oliver "kwezz" Rasmussen will step in for OpTic in the first group stage of ESL Pro League Season 10, team coach Casper "ruggah" Due has revealed.
The 19-year-old will step into the shoes of René "cajunb" Borg, who has left the team amidst reports that he will return to North to replace OG-bound Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså.
On Twitter, team member Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen lamented the situation his team have been in since June, when the Immortals Gaming Club (IGC), owner of MIBR, announced the acquisition of Infinite Esports & Entertainment, OpTic Gaming's parent company. This has put the Danish squad up for sale and made it impossible for players to be added unless they arrive for nothing.
kwezz burst onto the competitive scene in 2017, when he played several King of Nordic tournaments and attended his first big LAN, Cross Border Esport, alongside current Tricked member Fredrik "roeJ" Jørgensen. This year, he has played for teams like Ambush, ImmuNe and maquinas, averaging a 0.91 rating across all competitions.
OpTic will face BIG, FaZe and mousesports in the first group stage of ESL Pro League, kicking off on Tuesday. cajunb's departure came just days after the team crashed out of DreamHack Masters Malmö 2019 in 9th-12th place after beating Liquid and losing to Natus Vincere and mousesports.
This means that OpTic will attend the tournament with:
Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke
Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen
Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen
René "TeSeS" Madsen
Oliver "kwezz" Rasmussen
Casper "ruggah" Due (coach)
