Movistar Riders sign steel; loWel returns
Movistar Riders have announced the return of Christian "loWel" Garcia Antoran as well as the signing of Lucas "steel" Lopes to fill in the spots in the roster left open by Aitor "SOKER" Fernández and Raúl "DeathZz" Jordán Nieto.
loWel makes his return to Movistar Riders, the team he controversially left in March after HellRaisers disbanded and decided to go with a CIS team instead of keeping their European roster. Joining him is a veteran of international CS, but a newcomer in Europe, steel.
The two new signings will be taking over for SOKER and DeathZz, whose benching was announced yesterday, while the in-game leadership will be transferred from the team’s longtime leader to the incoming Brazilian player, who has had experience leading teams like Luminosity and Immortals.
loWel and steel join Movistar Riders at a time in which the Spanish team has been struggling to find their identity following the departures of loWel and Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas earlier this year. They will now hope that with two more experienced players and the in-game leadership being given to the Brazilian, they will be able to return to previous form and once again fight at the top of the ESEA MDL league as well as become a contender in online qualifiers.
“This is a new challenge that will take me out of my comfort zone but I can’t wait to start working with European players, learn their CS:GO culture, and leave our mark on the international scene,” said steel in declarations to Movistar Riders, to which loWel added that he’s “very excited to play with old and new teammates,” as well as thanking all of the people that will support the team since “they are the engine that keeps this project running.”
