fnatic outclass Virtus.pro to secure last ECS S8 Finals EU spot

fnatic punched their ticket to the ECS Season 8 Finals after defeating Virtus.pro 2-0 in the grand final of Week 5 Europe.

The Swedish team capped off a flawless run in the fifth European bracket of the season with a dominant performance against Virtus.pro, who could not capitalize on their success against FaZe in the previous stage as they were no match for the DreamHack Masters Malmö champions.

fnatic were caught off-guard by Virtus.pro's strong start to the game on Overpass, but once the Swedes hit their stride there was no stopping them. They took control of proceedings after being down 3-6 and ran away with the lead to secure the map at 16-8.

fnatic cruised through the final ECS bracket

The Polish team still attempted a response on Mirage, their own map pick, where they came back from 3-8 down to bring the deficit to a minimum. The second half brought no respite for Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski's men, who conceded the map without taking a single round on the T side as they simply could not break through the water-tight Swedish defense.

GG hard against top 3 team you play good vp, but u have to keep this up and destroy tier 2 to get into top 15 this year. Atlanta is a must win and get invite to cs_summit 5 if u do because tier 1 teams playing blast when summit on.

Brolan fucking through 2 maps all by himself, what a game. Thanks for the show VP, at least you made it to United League finals
2019-11-01 00:10
Im not saying VP could win this series but drafting nuke/train instead of mirage would be much better for them to handle. Overall fnatic is one of the worst teams for VP to play against because of map pool, they are strong on their top map picks like mirage and train...Im wonder why VP did not practice different maps? They had decent results on inferno lately and i think d2 could be good choice for them...
