Heroic qualify for EPICENTER 2019 over mousesports
Heroic have qualified for EPICENTER 2019 after a 2-0 victory over MOUZ in the Europe closed qualifier grand final.
The two-day tournament saw eight teams battle it out in a best-of-three single-elimination bracket, with the likes of MOUZ, North and CR4ZY in attendance.
MOUZ secured a spot in the closed qualifier’s final after dominant series victories over CR4ZY and SMASH in the previous rounds, which included a 16-0 thrashing of Rokas "EspiranTo" Milasauskas and co. Meanwhile, Heroic set up a match with MOUZ following wins over GamerLegion and Danish rivals North on the other side of the bracket.

The grand final kicked off on Vertigo, Heroic’s map pick, where the two teams locked horns early on, which ultimately saw the Danish side narrowly edge ahead 8-7 at the halfway mark. Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer and his squad stormed to a 14-8 lead as the second half ensued, with match point following soon after a string of rounds from MOUZ. Despite their best efforts, the European mixture could not tie things up as Heroic shut down the comeback swiftly to pick up the opening map 16-13.
MOUZ set out to even the score on Mirage and got off to a great start thanks to a Finn "karrigan" Andersen triple kill, which paved the way for a 9-6 advantage for the European mixture as the two squads swapped sides. Heroic stepped up their game on the defence, however, as the Danish squad grinded out a 16-14 victory, with Martin "stavn" Lund spearheading the comeback.
