100 Thieves eliminate ENCE in Beijing

With a confident 2-0 win over ENCE, 100 Thieves have advanced to the semi-final of IEM Beijing, where they will take on Vitality.

Justin "jks" Savage's triple with the P250 ensured 100 Thieves a positive start on the T side of Inferno, their map pick, and with a successful fast-paced A push in an early rifle round, the Australian team was able to pick up a 6-0 lead. As Aleksi "allu" Jalli started finding picks with the AWP, two rounds went ENCE's way, but 100 Thieves didn't let go of the pressure. Just as things were starting to look dire for the Finns, they won a 4v5 by stacking mid and then narrowed the gap to 7-5.

Aleksandar "kassad" Trifunović's men didn't let the lead slip away, however, grabbing nine rounds before the half, extending that after the switch to the defense with another pistol round victory. 100 Thieves won the early economy game to grab a 13-7 lead and, after stopping an A rush from their opponents, closed out the map 16-9.

Liazz impressed with fragging on Inferno and clutching on Nuke

Doubles from Aaron "AZR" Ward and Sean "Gratisfaction" Kaiwai continued 100 Thieves' perfect pistol round record after which they looked comfortable dealing with ENCE's approached, being 6-0 up before jks had to roll up his sleeves and clutch a 1v1 against allu on the A bombsite to continue their round winning streak.

Only after nine rounds in a row going 100 Thieves' way did ENCE manage to secure one of their own as they got into B and Jani "Aerial" Jussila locked it in with a triple kill on the lurk. Jay "Liazz" Tregillgas and co. still looked good on the defense, going up 11-1, but allu managed to rally the troops before the end of the half, bringing it back to 11-4.

100 Thieves' attempt to wrap Heaven was shut down on the pistol, giving ENCE the first two rounds on the defense, but the Australians were strong with rifles, getting onto the lower site repeatedly (14-6). Just as the Finns were looking to build some momentum, Liazz clutched a 1v2 with 5HP to push his team to match point, which they swiftly converted on, 16-7.

Hi my name is Aleksi “allu” Jalli. Playing csgo in the professional competitive scene is not about winning but about having fun with my best friends Mika “sunNy” Firepower, Sami “xseveN” Jump-peak, Jani “Aerial” Snake, and Jere “sergej” Farm-kills. AleksiB is not my friend therefore, because he likes playing bench on mirage, I put him there forever.

Also this one: Allu is a tactical genius. He is best known for his signature tactic “going B, but then benching AleksiB”. He also has a second little known tactic of “going A, but then going home without any wins”. What an absolute legend. Top 3 IGL for sure

2019-11-08 13:40
Just to get back to this. I've been a fan before their rise - not years but still. I tried to give them a chance but it's just not working out. And it's not only about results. Their external comms is shit - full of excuses and always next week, next month, next year. Organizations' way of working does not make sense in my mind. Seems like there's no leadership and nobody is taking responsibility of this mess. And finally their performance and game strategies is A-class horse shit atm. I don't know what's happening behind the scenes. But I'd boot twista, allu and aerial. Twista let all this happen. Allu seems to be a dick and aerial's playing is just plain bad. This should be professional sports - not playing with buddies and having fun. And I don't mean that they should not enjoy playing. But as in any other business or sport creating a winning team is not only compatibility, skill or mental. It's combination of everything.

2019-11-08 13:01
Yeah its sad, even me as a Swede was jellous at you fins for having such a good cs team when Nip and Fnatic was burning, but when they have the most potential, lets kick aleksib...smart move....NOT Thats the difference between NA and EU, NA got theire topplayers in the same team while in EU noone can keep friends with eachother so there is like 1 star player max in each team...
2019-11-08 13:55
This isn’t true at all, what data have you based this analysis on? There are several examples of EU teams where top players keep together and there are also several examples of top na teams that broke apart, and vice versa. To say that the defining difference between EU and na is top players keeping together is insane, it is not rooted in reality
2019-11-08 15:04
As Nip fan i'm super happy that they found a good form at last blast, been a fan of Patrik since 2008. Overall Swedish cs is back!

Liazz is a fcking monster. Rip ence, really they needs Aleksib everyone said it when he was kicked out, now the team looks with a very basic playstyle. Bad move allu. Sunny is a great player, but aleksib It is much better IGL than allu.
