ESEA announces Season 32 Global Challenge details

ESEA has released details about the Global LAN Finals for Season 32 of the Mountain Dew League (MDL), which will take place in December at the Mavs Gaming Training Facility in Dallas, Texas.

The event will be held from December 13-15 and feature eight teams from three different ESEA regional leagues. The first day will be dedicated to the playoff finals for both the North American and European MDL leagues. The eight spots will be divided between regions as follows:

United States North America - 4 spots
Europe Europe – 3 spots
Australia Australia - 1 spot

Prize money breakdown:

1. $25,000
2. $15,000

he has a sad life probably but there are lan finals for the mdl leagues, where you either qualify for the pro league or go to the pro league relegation (a qualifier for pro league)

So we have 8 teams from each region. 4 in each group for EU with 2 teams advancing to the playoffs from groups and fight for 3 slots or what? I didn't catch that

2019-11-10 05:53
Global Challenge and Relegation/Playoffs are, different events, but for the sake of simplicity helt at the same event. Relegation: > The first day will be dedicated to the playoff finals for both the North American and European MDL leagues. The two matches will be played in a best-of-five format, with the winners moving on to the next season of the ESL Pro League. Global Challenge: >The Global Challenge tournament will be held over the weekend, with $75,000 on the line. The teams will be split into two double-elimination groups, in which the lower bracket matches will be played in a best-of-three format, with the top two sides from both groups advancing to the single-elimination playoffs.

for mdl? average eu rank <40, average na rank around 100 (no top30, not even half in top 100). even australia mdl would challenge them with grayhound, chiefs, order

If it is top 3 or top 4 it differs a lot. And if you just count points/team it differs as well. It is weird but understandable

should be NA 2 BR 1 EU 3 AUSTRALIA 1

They didn't run a Brazilian slot because of the like 3 or 4 brazilian teams in NA MDL and I'm pretty sure they all made MDL playoffs

more like american sponsor so heavily favouring NA teams. 3 spots from NA with average rank being around 100 (and not having any top30 teams, legit most #100), meanwhile EU <40.
