CS:GO Asia Championships reaches playoffs

With the conclusion of the upset-heavy group stage of the CS:GO Asia Championships, the six teams that will compete in the playoffs starting on Saturday have been determined.

The event in Shanghai kicked-off with the domestic team TYLOO managing an unexpected 2-0 win over G2, which Hansel "BnTeT" Ferdinand and co. followed up with a 2-0 victory over MIBR on day two, taking the first place in group A in shocking fashion.

ENCE topped their group and have two days off before the semis

MIBR and Evil Geniuses claimed the other two playoff spots from group A, advancing to the quarter-finals which will be played on Saturday, after a day off. In group B, ENCE managed to break their streak of poor results since the addition of Miikka "suNny" Kemppi, picking up their first BO3 win over a top 20 team — mousesports — to grab a spot in the semis on Sunday. The final two playoff teams are mousesports, who have not impressed so far, and AVANGAR, who managed to survive the first two days with a stand-in, Rustem "mou" Telepov.

With the group stage played out, the tournament will continue with the playoffs after a one-day break, according to the following schedule:

Saturday, November 23
06:00 Brazil MIBR vs. Kazakhstan AVANGAR | BO3
09:00 United States Evil Geniuses vs. Europe mousesports | BO3

Sunday, November 24
