Official: Codewise Gaming to pull Aristocracy funding

Codewise Gaming have officially confirmed that they will stop backing the Aristocracy team.

In a Facebook post, it was announced that Codewise Gaming are ending their cooperation with the team today, less than six months after taking over the Aristocracy lineup and brand.

The news follows reports from several media outlets - including HLTV.org - that the players were on the lookout for a new home after Codewise Gaming's sudden decision, which took the team by surprise as they were hoping to build a long-term project with the organisation.

The team's search for a new organisation continues

Since leaving devils.one in February due to a falling out with the organisation, Aristocracy have found success hard to come by, only winning the ESL Polish Championship Spring Finals. The team will have to fight to keep their spot in the ESL Pro League in the relegation stage after finishing last of their group following defeats to Astralis, fnatic and North.

Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas's charges, who will play under the name "ARCY" until a new organisation is found, will take part in this weekend's ESL Polish Championship Autumn Finals, where a spot in the IEM Katowice closed qualifier and almost $40,000 will be on offer. In two weeks' time, they will travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina to attend the QI Banja Luka tournament.

The Polish team have the following roster:

Poland Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas
Poland Jacek "MINISE" Jeziak
Poland Karol "rallen" Rodowicz
Poland Mikołaj "mouz" Karolewski
Poland Paweł "dycha" Dycha

Poland Mariusz "Loord" Cybulski (coach)

Aristocracy was a name of TaZ mix, tho Codewise Gaming decided to fund them (previously we had Codewise Unicorns here in poland) so now we had "Aristocracy by Codewise Gaming" Codewise decided to leave them after only 3 months of working together, so ARCY again is playing as a orgless

somehow he managed to get At least good 3 years from vp from 2014 to 2017 and it was TaZ who build this vp squad, but yea lets ignore him xd
2019-11-30 14:51
happy won 2 major during 2014-2015 as an IGL, would you take him in your team now in 2019?

2019-11-30 18:50
thats what literally guy above me said, saying taz is good because what he did in 2014
2019-12-01 03:51
Oh, I think I misunderstood you a bit, I thought that you were saying that TaZ wouldn't WANT to be a long-term project, but you meant that TaZ is too old to be part of a long-term project, yeah? I'm thinking he could probably transition to a coach role or something, but even if they just straight up kicked him, keeping and developing a four man core can be called a long-term project. IMO, even what xyp, dev, dup have done over the past few years is a long-term project.
2019-12-01 14:23
i dont see Taz became coach for this project, he just dont want to admit that his time is up. He literally have less than 1.0 rating on almost every map they play, LAN and online, winning or losing.
2019-12-01 18:29
He's a leader though, both in-game and out of it. Just look at 2015 fnatic, they had an IGL with sub-1.0 rating and still had an era.
2019-12-01 19:08
its works in 2015, not so much now. beside, that other 4 fnatic player is the best in the scene at that moment, so they can compromise 1 player with only brain without skill. and dont know what taz bring to this team because he's definitely not a good IGL either

Team Kinguin - people that made this ORG, had to quit cuz Kinguin as company decided it would be better to be a sponsor instead of having own squad -> thats how DV1 was made.. ARCY team left dv1 -> it was player choice, not kick from org Codewise Gaming is the first time when it was sponsor / org that left players, not players quiting org

playing online and on lan are completly diferente thing, and some players are eay better playing in one of those environments… no one thew anything, but when you have been playing exclusivly on lan for the last 8 years, and one of the opponenst that you are facing kills more than s1mple it's kinda hard to keep up… a good exemple of this kind of player is davidP from herectis, at least til une year ago he was destroying online and didnt do much at lans

Poland wims
Yes, I know, but this profession is so sure that after a short period of practice in the office he will certainly become a lawyer. his recognition can only help him in this. taz is an example of a person who has always loved this game and the competition itself so think that this is the reason why he is still playing.
2019-11-30 17:04
So maybe now is the time to retire and switch? He better make som money with that job and start like a csgo school for new polish blood like pasha. Atleast he has brains

personally I don't mind his presence on stage. I've been here with guys since they started their adventure in team pentagram. a long journey and somehow I'm in no hurry to finish it. but I agree that it has potential to be used after the end of a career. That's only his decision when it will happen.
