NEO to step in for ARCY in WESG qualifiers
The 32-year-old will play for the ex-Aristocracy team as a replacement for Paweł "dycha" Dycha, who announced earlier on Friday that he was no longer with the squad, citing the wish to "grow more as a player".
NEO has been out of action since September, when he was released from FaZe after a four-month period in which he acted as an in-game leader for the team. He averaged a 0.86 rating on LAN with the European squad, whom he notably led to the semi-finals at DreamHack Masters Dallas and to the final at BLAST Pro Series Los Angeles.
In ARCY, NEO will reunite with his longtime friend and former teammate Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas. The duo won a plethora of trophies together between 2004 and 2018, including one CS:GO Major, before TaZ was placed on the bench by Virtus.pro and then sold to Kinguin.
The Polish team are currently on the lookout for a new organisation to represent following Codewise Gaming's decision to pull the plug on the Aristocracy project. Last weekend, ARCY attended the ESL Polish Championship Autumn Finals, where they finished 3rd-4th after losing to AGO 2-1 in the first round.
ARCY are through to the upper bracket final of the WESG qualifier after defeating Wisla Krakow and AGO in the first two rounds of the double-elimination tournament. Their next match will see them take on Illuminar, who won the ESL Polish Finals last weekend.
The Polish team will field the following line-up in the rest of the WESG qualifier:
