mousesports spoil OG debut at cs_summit 5

MOUZ are off to a great start at cs_summit 5 after winning back-to-back maps against the newly-formed OG.

The first two opening matches of cs_summit 5 saw a fired-up MOUZ, coming in fresh out of a victory at the ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals, face an OG side making their first appearance. Finn "karrigan" Andersen and company were forced to employ the services of Niels Christian "NaToSaphiX" Sillassen, as Özgür "woxic" Eker was unable to attend the event due to visa issues.

frozen led the charge on Mirage with a 1.52 rating

The first map was OG's pick of Mirage, where Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen and company experienced early T-side struggles. Despite being able to supplement their economy in six of the first eight rounds with bomb plants, the debuting roster conceded all of their post-plants and was faced with a mounting deficit on the offense.

OG were finally able to make a dent in MOUZ' armour and gradually amassed momentum of their own, whittling the established finances of the CTs in the process. Come half time, the deficit was softened to a much more manageable 6-9 scoreline.

Issa "ISSAA" Murad kicked off his team's CT campaign with a USP-S triple kill, but there was no follow-up for the new roster, as a second-round force buy victory meant MOUZ once more assumed the wheel on Mirage. OG secured one more round before the Ts were able to assume map point, which was shortly followed by an A hit that put the first map to bed.

Dust2 followed, and, just like their opponents on Mirage, MOUZ faced early issues on the T side. Despite securing their first rifle round and employing a varied approach to breaches, success was limited for karrigan's side and OG had a firm grip on the game, consistently converting post-plants and shutting down the offense. It was only towards the end of their T-side campaign that some success was found by mouz, thanks to outstanding individual showings from NaToSaphiX and David "frozen" Čerňanský.

Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså sought to make the second map brief with a Glock triple kill in the second pistol round, but a timely pistol buy from MOUZ kept the team in the game. The CTs assumed a dominant position, grinding out rounds to bring the deficit to a minimum at 10-11.

A solid triple kill effort from frozen was met with an equal reaction from Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt, creating a cyclone of exchanges between the two teams. With the score tied at 14-14, a successful B site retake from MOUZ was followed up with a strong A hold from NaToSaphiX, closing the second map 16-14 in favour of the Odense champions.

nbk shouldnt even be in this lineup if he has to "frag". Aleksib - decent fragging valde - good fagging mantsuu- unknown nbk- decent fragging issa- unknown too many unknowns to know if issa and nbk have to go huge. only one needs to in theory.

That very true, but most of the teams don't take cs summit seriously, as it is more of a fun and enjoyable tournament, and furthermore mouz might be trying to experiment some new strats to prepare for epic centre

I don't think so. Actually Mouz just have made a lot of mistakes in the T side, the kind of mistake that karrigan don't make when he is leading team. A IGL of his level can solve this problems easily.

Well, in the match against Mousesports the expected loss. As we say in Russia: "The first pancake is lumpy" But OG showed a good game and they were able to impose a fight on Dust2. In tactical terms, Mouz had a very small advantage. You could even say that he was not there at all. Just give them time, let them play out. We must also take into account the fact that for mantuu this is generally the first big LAN tournament. And also most OG players have never played in international rosters. This lineup of Mousesports also started poorly in their debut matches.

NaToSaphiX did an amazing job as a stand-in. Maybe they should test him more and replace him maybe with chrisJ? Future potential there. They would have great fire / sniper power with NaTo, woxic and ropz. Or replace with woxic due to VISA problems. Retarded dictator Erdogan.. OG on the other hand showed great potential on dust2 that they can actually challenge TOP 5 teams. As expected earlier.. The problems were just shown on mirage though with retakes as they challenged AWPer alone for example. They were too enthusiastic and did not look at all corners. At some point even Aleksib throwed smoke to mid link for mouz to advantage from mid and OG lost that round. Occasionally it looked like kinda "MM CS", but maybe there was some tension, because after all it was their first match. They should just be more careful and more passive. Mantuu did a great job too, but lost some important rounds due to lack of LAN experience. He will improve from that. If I'm not wrong, they will become TOP 15 during the Spring 2020. If you look at ENCE history, they should have kicked xSeven long time ago, but they had patience during his improvement as what his role was in the team. OG will most likely do the same with mantuu.

I am thinking that future-wise to win tournaments. ENCE also changed line-up due to desire to win. ChrisJ is -90 and NaToSaphiX -96. I agree too that he has been amazing lately I mean both. The whole mouz has been on fire! Woxic is also -98. Ropz -99. Karrigan -90 though, but he is there for a reason (IGL.)

Nato did well but he won't replace woxic. Adding him to mousesports just to have him on a role that's not fit for him is something heroic already did and it didn't work out. I hate chrisJ but Nato is not the answer

Sorry but chrisJ is the mascot for mouz

Still pretty damn close for the debut of OG, considering the different nationalities, there could be language barriers and how long they’ve been practicing together

Pretty good showing from first official maps ever. Will be interesting to see where this team goes in the coming months. A little skeptical, but I'd be naive to say that they didn't show promise.

OG = overrated gamers.....only valde is good

Its not about time brother its about firepower and other things....by time they will do good but valde aleksib nbk too many brains in 1 team.....they dont have some star player who will just press w and hit headshots they need to figure out something.

your nuts, Aleksib is a great IGL, he proved it already with ENCE and now look at ENCE, they aren't as good without him. New teams take time to develop. ISSAA and woxic were amazing with HR at times, and the only reason that team was any good. If you don't remember, HR had Deadfox which is basically deadweight, meaning ISSAA helped carry HR to win maps in what basically is every map starting 4v5 situations. mantuu is amazing at lower levels, I haven't seen him vs top players so I can't say yet, but he didn't do great but he didn't do bad this match. It is easy to hate on a new team losing but I think we will see OG get better, and if you can't find any players you think are talented on OG I think your a troll or don't watch CS.

Not a surprise. Good opening games for OG. Bring back Cobblestone btw.

Natosaphix used to be decent, but didn't stand out as much when playing top tier players. He destroyed tier 3 players, was hot and cold with tier 2 players, and had flashes of brilliance but overall didn't hang at tier 1 level. I am a fan I am not saying this as a hater. Natosaphix has always steadily improved early in his career, but over the last 18 months, his development has gone to another level. He has gotten better and better, his improvement started by destroying tier 2 competition and then getting more comfortable vs top players, although still being up and down. Slowly he has developed to the beast he is today that can play a top game vs any team in the world. Time for a top team to sign Natosaphix. You heard it here 1st.
