Astralis brush aside NiP to reach grand final in Riffa

Astralis are the first finalist of the BLAST Pro Series 2019 Global Final after beating NiP 2-0 in the upper bracket final of the double-elimination tournament.

The Danes are just one victory away from ending 2019 with yet another title after a one-sided match against NiP. The Swedish team, fresh off a 2-0 success over FaZe, pinned all their hopes on a Train pick, but the gamble did not pay off as Astralis came out on top with a very strong offensive performance before heading into Nuke, where there was no stopping them.

NiP were in the lead just one round over the course of this best-of-three series, which goes to show the chasm between the two sides and just how superior Astralis were. The Swedes, who for the fifth time in a row failed to take a map off the Danes in a series, will fight for their tournament life in the consolidation final against the winner of today's match between Liquid and FaZe.

Astralis made a flying start to the game on Train, where they strolled to an 8-1 lead on the CT side. NiP were struggling to find holes in the Astralis defense and kept losing all aim duels, but they gathered themselves and took control of proceedings during what was left of the half. Even with a double AWP setup, the Danes were unable to keep the Ninjas at bay, with Nicolai "device" Reedtz getting just three frags to his name in the last six rounds on the defense.

Astralis march on to the grand final

Astralis brought that streak to a swift conclusion with a near-flawless pistol round in the second half, only to be caught off-guard by the Ninjas' Scouts and the Desert Eagle of Fredrik "REZ" Sterner, who picked up four frags in the ladder room. But there would be no respite for NiP as the Danes immediately regained control of the game on a force buy, riding that momentum to a 13-8 lead.

With no room for error, NiP tightened up and put together a string of rounds, but it all turned out to be in vain as Astralis took center stage once again and quickly put the game to bed.

Just like on Train, NiP were on the back foot from the outset as Astralis enjoyed a scintillating start on the Terrorist side despite losing the pistol round. They offered no breathing room to the Ninjas, who were limited to just five rounds in the half.

NiP kept their hopes alive as they took the pistol round, but more misery was to come as Astralis hit back instantly. The Danes' dominance was absolute and they finished on a high, securing the map without even letting their opponents reach double digits.

Not crying. Just making sure he knows how stupid he looks.

of course you do, instead of ignoring him

You clearly did not get the joke then. I think it is funny how he comments while sort of doing exactly what he is complaining about.

so now you thought it was funny instead of "stupid", as you said.

2019-12-13 15:51
I'm actually not watching I'm watching summit instead. Lol mad Denmark fucking fanboi triggered your shit Danish tournaments are trash tier corporation tournaments not for fans
2019-12-13 23:22
You are funny. All your trash talking seems pretty desperate though, remind us - how many tournaments are played in Canada. And btw. you are missing out by not watching the last big one of the year. While not many teams taking part the matches are good, the crowd is not bad either and so far matches have been starting on time so no wasted time either.
2019-12-14 00:04
Great so now that I've proved you wrong you decide to go on the offensive to save face to your peers when we are all watching you throw this childish tantrum laughing at you. Keep projecting we can all see it. I've already won this I wouldnt even call it an argument because that would have meant you have a leg to stand on from the beginning but you didnt. Easy win for me it must eat you up inside knowing you can't reply now or else you'd look super salty. Bet youre going to try to just copy this, say tl;dr, change it a bit to reply to me, or worst of all try to mob mentality a win by trying to outnumber me which is the most pathetic of all lmao but that would look even more pathetic for you. Keep trying to troll as well it feeds me but I don't have time for you so enjoy the block too, kid.
2019-12-14 01:13
:) Text book example of deflection. And on top there is the attempt of pretending to be superior, except you forgot to answer my question. Remind us - how many tournaments are played in Canada.

People like a personality. Whether it's good or bad. I kind of like the quiet reserve of 2018 Liquid but 2019 Liquid is definitely better. A huge part of that is Elige finally fulfilling his potential but a big part of it is also that Stewie2k is a huge upgrade on Taco and in a very similar role.

This isn't exactly shocking. NiP is kind of a mess right now and Astralis seem to have recaptured their 2018 momentum ever since the major barring EG and home soil.
