XigN joins BTRG

BTRG have signed Hyun-Pyo "XigN" Lee and Shun-Hei "HeiB" Ho to complete their roster.

BTRG have added XigN and HeiB to their starting five. The former already played in BTRG's two first ESEA Open Season 33 Asia matches, while the latter has yet to start a match, with Kevin "Eeyore" Gunawan being used as the team's fifth on a temporary basis.

XigN will play with ImpressioN and xccurate in BTRG

XigN joined the team after months of strife when he and two others, Hong-Gyo "Jinx" Jung and Hae-Sung "HSK" Kim, parted ways with MVP PK. The trio joined up with veteran Keun-Chul "solo" Kang and 19-year-old up-and-comer Jong-Min "Lakia" Kim, but were unable to find organizational support before disbanding the team.

Jinx was rumored as a possible option for the Chinese structure, as he has been added to the team's ESEA roster, but it appears the organization finally decided to bring former BTRG and BTRG.HK player HeiB—who had put his Counter-Strike career on hiatus to play PUBG—into the fold instead.

Finally, Adrian "adrnking" Setiawan, who was part of the BTRG squad that won the WESG 2019 SEA Finals and was removed from the starting five last November when BTRG picked ZhiWei "zWin" Li up on trial, has now been transfer-listed, while ZhiTao "Drea3er" Zhang has been moved to the bench.

With all of the changes taken into account, BTRG are:

Singapore Anthony "ImpressioN" Lim
Indonesia Kevin "xccurate" Susanto
China ZhiWei "zWin" Li
Korea Hyun-Pyo "XigN" Lee
Hong Kong Shun-Hei "HeiB" Ho

Indonesia Kevin "Eeyore" Gunawan (stand-in)

China Yan "start" Zhang (coach)

China ZhiTao "Drea3er" Zhang (benched)
Indonesia Adrian "adrnking" Setiawan (transfer listed)

Thanks for the answer, in that case this might end up better for xign and xcc than getting picked by TyLoo, although anything can happen in the future.

Yes i do browse weibo but not a lot of info i got from there mostly from steam and facebook cn cs community, tyloo is the pioneer of cncs from 1.6 and was one of the only who got far in international scene which made them gained a lot of fans, it's ridiculous to compare them to btrg which is a new org.
2020-01-21 08:56
What investments are you talking about?
2020-01-21 03:53

Multiple FPS teams @ CN scene
2020-01-21 05:02
What i heard from cn journalists it's not actually they still owe some money to their media guys, btrg doesn't even have contracts for their players. Even xcc is still on tyloo's contract until next year. It's a very loose org

Well it's for sure better than just staying and not playing at all. I'm kind of hoping that he'll eventually get a spot at TyLoo (-Attacker), but we'll see. I agree that this team doesn't have a lot of potential tbh.
2020-01-20 14:02
12 replies
Heib doesn't even have impressive match history and I would same about Zwin. Impression and xccurrate are best free agents from SEA if we don't count in crazyguy. I kinda would have hoped that some Korean org would have signed XigN and co. I also do think that attacker is good, but not just on the right role.
2020-01-20 14:07

Eh, I don't know if it would've worked with the proposed lineup. In the end I think the biggest chance for Korean players to do anything is apparently to go play internationally like xeta, if the MVP lineup with XigN+xeta+stax didn't work internally for some reason.
2020-01-20 14:09

I think Xeta and XigN would have worked out, also solo is experienced and respected IGL, he would have fixed those problems I'd claim.

Yeah exactly. It's really sad in my opinion that that lineup ended up disbanding, they had a lot of potential. I don't know if we're gonna have as good of a lineup for a long time in the scene. I honestly do think that they could've become the best Asian team, if they weren't already, and gone further in for example majors than anyone before.
2020-01-20 14:16
8 replies
They were 2nd best in Asia for sure, even best for a short period of time. They really made some competition in the Asian scene, I'm sad that it didn't last long. Hopefully, TyLoo will show us something awesome at least. I wouldn't mind seeing those Korean players signed to some team tho and show us some other great talent maybe.
2020-01-20 14:18
7 replies
Agreed, but I feel like they're gonna need at least one roster move before they really get going. And when it comes to the Koreans, sure! Although I feel like apart from stax there aren't really too many exiting players in the scene. Could make a solid team in the Asian scene though.

Well, HSK is free agent, Jinx is free agent, solo, seoke, zeff and lakia is free, but I don't remember him being an absolute beast.
2020-01-20 14:22
5 replies
HSK sure, and Jinx as well I guess, but I kind of think that rotating solo and zeff is getting kind of boring. I know that they're legends, but it's getting a little bit tired imo seeing them constantly rotated around. But I guess that they're the best available people
2020-01-20 14:24

I mean, zeff could be dropped out, but those youngsters need experienced IGL or players who has wide-experience. They don't necessarily need two.
2020-01-20 14:25
3 replies
Yeah I agree with that as well, but even someone like HSK is starting to become relatively experienced. Then again if you ignore all of the old boys, then you're starting again to struggle with finding good players.
2020-01-20 14:28

Then again learning to be IGL. Isn't easy task, even though he has been under good leadership.

Yeah, and it's maybe even arguable whether HSK is better as an IGL or an Individual player as Solo.
