FLASHPOINT closed qualifiers preliminary invite list announced

FLASHPOINT has revealed an unconfirmed list of teams who received invitations to the closed qualifiers in Europe, North America, and South America.

The news was announced ahead of the start of the first open qualifiers, which kick off on Thursday in all three regions, with three more to follow over the course of the following week.

The closed qualifiers will take place on February 14-17 in Europe, where a total of 32 teams will be in attendance, and February 14-16 in North America and South America, each of which will feature 16 teams.

Should they accept, BIG will take part in the European closed qualifier

Two teams from each closed qualifier will advance to the global LAN qualifier, held at the beginning of March in Los Angeles and offering two spots in the first season of the FLASHPOINT league.

Half of the closed qualifier participants will be directly invited in each region and the organizers have revealed a preliminary list of invitees, some of whom are yet to confirm their participation.

Europe

North America

South America

So far, Movistar Riders and Singularity have publicly confirmed that they will take part in the European closed qualifier.

nice ez BIG!

It's not. This year and for the foreseeable couple years it will most likely be a tier 2 circuit until it has proven itself as a contender by having great production and the revenue model works out as planned. Only then will top teams buy into it

Wait, so for closed qualifiers they have like 32 EU teams and 32 from other regions and if you win that, the only thing you get is going to a second stage of closed qualifiers. And from those they have an amazing number of 2 slots for non-invited teams."A league open for the teams and the community" my arse, the qualifying process is even harder than the one for the major. Although tbh it's still better than ESL who let OG jump 5 levels of leagues and just directly invited that MDL level team
2020-02-06 13:52
1 reply
Also no Asia/Oceanic qualifiers so there's a significant portion of the community excluded by default.
2020-02-06 14:01
Suddenly this league gets interesting for me (IF BIG qualifies of course) good move from them. BIG got snitched by ESL and now its payback time
2020-02-06 13:53
Go heretics !
2020-02-06 13:59
2 teams from each qualifier ? Isn't this unfair seeing how many teams are participating in the EU qualifier ? It's literally the double amount of teams in the other regional qualifiers... lol Come on make it fair for once, repeating the mistakes from the minor-slots allowed to EU. It's really unfair. It should be 4-1-1 if anything if you want to have a 6-teams LAN qualifier. But imo it should be 4-2-2. Would be a lot more interesting. A 6-teams LAN is a waste of time & investment. HIRE ME ALREADY!

Do i understand it correctly that in EU 2 out of 32 teams proceed? While in other regions its 2 out of 16, while the quality of competitors of those other regions is laughable (look at HLTV rankings for example) compared to not only EU, but EU+CIS?! Whoever came up with this must be fkin genius. If this is all you can do Thorin, then god (or whoever can pretty much) save your B "dream league"...

yall be cryin about flashpoint being a tier3 league but what yall don't realise is that the top teams are already in EPL and these 2 tournaments are meant to run at the same time so there's no way they can get top teams to play in the first season think before you post

sure. but thats like liverpool or city voluntarily going down championship or league one. I just dont see them doing that. unless this somehow miraculously creates money out of nothing . or do you mean that at a later point season 2 and later the leagues wont run at the same time, but the exclusivity will still be there no? I fail to understand why teams that didnt want to participate in season 1 would want to do so in season 2. It seems to me like exactly the same decision over again.

i don't think it was about them not wanting to participate, I think it was more like a missed chance because they were already registered in EPL from last year or else
