Evil Geniuses send 100 Thieves to BLAST Premier Showdown

Evil Geniuses have eliminated 100 Thieves from Group C at BLAST Premier Spring Series following a 2-0 victory in the lower bracket final.

Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz & co. have recovered from the poor start on day one of the third group, during which they lost a nail-biting series to OG that sent them to the lower bracket encounter against the Australian side. With the victory, they move on to a spot-deciding match in the group's consolidation final, where they will meet the loser of OG and G2 on Sunday.

100 Thieves kick off 2020 with a last-place elimination in the BLAST Premier group stage, but they will have another chance at qualifying for the seasonal finals as they drop to the Showdown, where Astralis, Vitality, NiP, and MIBR are also waiting.

EG survive day two in London

100 Thieves picked Train to start the series and looked competitive at the start, with a second-round forcebuy victory in a B attack yielding them a couple of rounds, but soon Evil Geniuses got a hold of the map and never let go. The North American team's defense proved impenetrable, as they cruised to a 12-3 half, and with Ethan "Ethan" Arnold clutching a 1v1 in the second pistol round it was only a matter of time before they picked up the opening map 16-4.

Nuke followed, where Evil Geniuses' struggles with second-round conversion continued, but this time they replied right back once Tarik "tarik" Celik won a 1v1 to get up to a 4-1 lead as Terrorists. This time, 100 Thieves fought back as they managed to defend for four in a row, but a pistol win from the opposing side put them on an eco and EG ran away with three. Sean "Gratisfaction" Kaiwai answered with a USP triple of his own up against full weaponry, which salvaged the rest of the half for his team.

Although EG got off to the better start after sides switched, 100 Thieves looked to equalize the series once they put their foot down and went on a dominant streak with guns in hand, but three map points weren't enough for them to finish it off and the map went to overtime. There, Evil Geniuses picked up a perfect half on the defense on the back of tarik's and Tsvetelin "CeRq" Dimitrov's double AWP, with Ethan's quad-kill ending the series at 19-16, 2-0.

Jks has been a major liability too in 2020... He is supposed to be the madfragger of this team... What the fook were theses performances from him ???

Liability across 4 maps? He needs to step it up obviously, but this is 100 Thieves first event in 2020 and the first event in over two months, Same goes for EG, both teams performed shockingly for their first games and this was overall just a shit show, with the S class team coming out on top.

JKS, Jkaem and AZR are the only people of note on this team. I'd combine them with Floppy and Sonic or Autimatic and Bntet if I could wave a magic wand. Mustache and I can't even remember his name are fucking garbo. EG looks like they just needed to shake the rust off. Unfortunately it happened against a team they've never played but they are gonna pound G2 tomorrow.

people need to relax with the 100T Roster moves. They were a bit rusty but overall they didn't play horribly they had a very close game against G2 that could've gone 50/50 & while sure they were bad on Train & they should've won on Nuke it wasn't as bad as people think. They'll bounce back at Kato.

agree with you, i think that if eg won against og yesterday we could have ended up with g2 - 100t rematch for blast slot all the good teams seems shaky atm

ye while i must say G2 have been impressive if Thieves got a rematch i'd back them to win as they wouldn't ruin the veto & would play Mirage where they would beat i think. Plus EG are 100T's kryptonite we had no chance of beating them.
2020-02-16 00:45
This did aged well :)
2020-02-27 23:47
I think 100T need better coach that have more expirience than kassad
2020-02-16 00:58
100T is the biggest fkn fluke in cs history who ended up in world ranking top10 ..... what a fukn joke. now they just showed their true form, i am not surprised.
