Moche XL Esports 2020 with $100,000 prize pool; MIBR first team confirmed

E2Tech has announced the first details about the 2020 edition of Moche XL Esports, which will have $100,000 in prize money.

The Portuguese event will run from June 27-28 at Altice Arena, the same venue that hosted the previous two editions and 2018's BLAST Pro Series Lisbon stop.

The $100,000 prize pool is the biggest in the history of the competition and represents a $25,000 increase from 2019's figure. The winner will earn $60,000 —$20,000 more than the Bulgarians of Windigo took home last year.

Moche XL Esports returns for a third edition

Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's side will return to Moche XL Esports after winning the first edition of the event, in 2018, by beating HellRaisers in the final. It was one of the team's last tournaments under the SK banner before they joined MIBR, later that summer.

"This year, we want Moche XL Esports to be even more exciting and spectacular, we will bring some of the best teams in the world to Portugal," said E2Tech owner Pedro Silveira.

"In this edition, the crowd will be able to watch great matches, meet some of their favorite players and take part in a number of tournaments and activities."

MIBR will be joined by five other teams in this single-elimination, best-of-three tournament, including the champions of Portuguese league MLP and of Brazil's Clutch Season 2. Teams interested in applying for one of the last three spots can contact the tournament organiser at Info@mochexlesports.pt.

The prize money breakdown is the following:

1. $60,000
2. $20,000
3-4. $7,000
5-6. $3,000

Tickets for Moche XL Esports 2020 are already on sale at blueticket.pt.

BIG won the event they got invited to just a few weeks ago, so no, i'm not mad at all. mibr on the other hand has not accomplished anything on any tier for at least a year now, they are solely invited because brazilian fanboys still watch everything they do. and they never won a match against BIG either. lmaooooo

2020-02-19 14:26
Lmao U are considering a win against them, like a title, they had recive same trophy for that? BIG irrelevant tier 2, and considering these wins as something just show how (ironic) SMALL that fluke ORG is. BIG_never_won_something_relevant_ BIG_never_be_on_top_10 Tier 2 talking about Major champions (2 in a row) LMAO
2020-02-19 16:18
look at all these br flags trying to act like they have a clue. i did not understand your first sentence, it's too broken. BIG had to rebuild themselves completely because their 2019 was even worse than mibrs. noone denies it. and yes, it has meaning for BIG fans because this team was 3 weeks old when they won that event, and they're currently on a 10 maps winstreak. its just refreshing to see and shows promise after such a shitty 2019. still i dont see mibr winning t2 events either. the team that won these two majors was a whole different team. not player wise but obviously mentality wise. i was a huge fan of LG / SK, they actually were the first team i was a fan of. they played with such a hunger and temper, it was brilliant to see. i see neither of those qualities nowadays. i just see lackluster cs full of repeating mistakes.
2020-02-19 17:22
Losing to BIG while raising trophies ? That's fine for me :D
2020-02-19 18:10
your last trophy was the zotac cup in august 2018 in the finals against kinguin. and that is actually the only trophy under the mibr name so far. mibr really destroyed MVP PK and FLASH, amazing
2020-02-19 18:12
Ignoring the fact that LG=SK=MIBR ? Gob b always countered FalleN but that was the best he could do. We still have much more trophies than BIG will ever do.
2020-02-19 18:27
no. i was a huge fan of LG and SK. especially of FalleN as an awper, but towards the end of the SK days this roster got worse and worse, lackluster and unmotivated. of course the players achieved a whole lot, but sorry, nowadays they're just not worth inviting anymore.
2020-02-19 18:45
I agree they aren't in a good shape but saying they don't deserve invites sounds like a crybaby. You have more than one reason to invite a team, of course they didn't invite MiBR cuz of their brilliant CS, it's clearly cuz of the crowd and viewers. But yeah, in the perspective of analising their CS, they do not deserve invites. It would be more appropriate if they went back to qualifiers like the old days.
2020-02-19 19:15
mibr is easy money$ alot of visibility.

these were exciting times. LG lineup with fallen/fer/fnx/taco/cold was the first team i was a fan of, sadly they have fallen off so much, i dont really like watching them anymore
2020-02-19 12:23
they invite mibr because they know portuguese fans like them. Just a (smart) move from the organization. Hope they can invite some better team

So excited to can go again to XL! MiBR and Dignitas are the first ones confirmed, finally the dream of e2tech in getting this legendary players invited, are a reality, welcome to Portugal Swedish Legends <3 Hope Sharks can come to the event and be invited, would be very cool to have them at event as well, hope schedule allow them. MiBR Clutch season winner Dignitas Sharks? (would like was them) MLP Winner Na'Vi? (my favourite team, would like to see them ofc) This 6 i think are the best teams to come at Portugal, legendary players of 1.6, the most loyal fanbase in Portugal (Dignitas), the most supported team internationally (MiBR) by portuguese fans, (Sharks) for being portuguese org and having Coachi being the coach, MLP Winner for obvious reasons, as well as Clutch winner being a good move to me too, and Na'Vi not just for being my favourite team and a team with a lot of fans in Portugal, since 1.6 and our history choosing Na'Vi name, as well as S1mple of course, with his massive fanbase here, and for by that time be the actual Major Champions ;P xD So hype is real, lets go everyone to XL and show another time who's the best crowd in the world!
