Moche XL Esports 2020 with $100,000 prize pool; MIBR first team confirmed
E2Tech has announced the first details about the 2020 edition of Moche XL Esports, which will have $100,000 in prize money.
The Portuguese event will run from June 27-28 at Altice Arena, the same venue that hosted the previous two editions and 2018's BLAST Pro Series Lisbon stop.
The $100,000 prize pool is the biggest in the history of the competition and represents a $25,000 increase from 2019's figure. The winner will earn $60,000 —$20,000 more than the Bulgarians of Windigo took home last year.
Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's side will return to Moche XL Esports after winning the first edition of the event, in 2018, by beating HellRaisers in the final. It was one of the team's last tournaments under the SK banner before they joined MIBR, later that summer.
"This year, we want Moche XL Esports to be even more exciting and spectacular, we will bring some of the best teams in the world to Portugal," said E2Tech owner Pedro Silveira.
"In this edition, the crowd will be able to watch great matches, meet some of their favorite players and take part in a number of tournaments and activities."
MIBR will be joined by five other teams in this single-elimination, best-of-three tournament, including the champions of Portuguese league MLP and of Brazil's Clutch Season 2. Teams interested in applying for one of the last three spots can contact the tournament organiser at Info@mochexlesports.pt.
