ALTERNATE aTTaX move DuDe to analyst role; ScrunK to fill IGL position temporarily
ALTERNATE aTTaX in-game leader Dustin "DuDe" Großmann has stepped down from the active roster to support the team as an analyst, with Robin "ScrunK" Röpke taking up the leadership position on a temporary basis.
DuDe had been a part of the German squad since January 2019, when he joined from PANTHERS alongside Mateusz "mantuu" Wilczewski. During his time with ALTERNATE aTTaX, he led the team to numerous titles throughout the year, most notably the Esportal Global Finals and the Spring and Summer editions of ESL Meisterschaft.
The beginning of 2020 has failed to bring any significant results for ALTERNATE aTTaX, with the poor start in the 99Damage League following defeats to Unicorns of Love and Planetkey forcing the organisation to reconsider their options.
“After playing together for over a year we've reached a point where we didn't seem to progress the way we wanted to and a change seemed to be a necessary option”, DuDe told HLTV.org
“I've spent an amazing year with the boys and everyone involved. I had my biggest successes to date and I can look back to great memories and experiences being part of ALTERNATE aTTaX!
"For the time being, I will try my best to assist the boys where I can and will use the time to think about how and in what position I want to continue in the future”.
With DuDe now transitioning to an analyst role for the team, ALTERNATE aTTaX have opted to utilise coach ScrunK on a temporary basis to fill the leadership position left vacant until a permanent fifth player can be signed. The 24-year-old, who took charge of the squad at the start of the year, has played for teams like EURONICS, DIVIZON and expert in the past, leading the latter to two LAN titles in 2018.
ALTERNATE aTTaX are now:
Robin "ScrunK" Röpke (coach/stand-in)
Dustin "DuDe" Großmann (analyst)
