GamerLegion will no longer be represented by their Swedish roster, with a part of the lineup released and others still tied to the organization.
The news of GamerLegion parting ways with its roster follows the end of ESEA MDL Season 33 playoffs, where the Swedes finished 7-8th after losses to Nordavind and HellRaisers. The team currently ranked 35th in the world also had an underwhelming Europe Minor qualifying campaign earlier this year as they were unable to make it through the Open Qualifier stage.
The Swedish squad seemingly isn't looking to stick together following their release from GamerLegion, as Dennis "dennis" Edman announced that he is looking for new opportunities and is open to European and North American offers.
Interestingly, GamerLegion signed former CS 1.6 pro player Rasmus "Gux" Ståhl to coach their team earlier this month, but that didn't stop them from cutting ties from their Swedish roster. In the announcement, GamerLegion noted that they will "withdraw and rethink our future strategy in Counter-Strike" together with Gux.
The following players are now free agents:
Meanwhile, Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom, who was benched in September 2019 as the team made the transition from an international to a Swedish roster, is still contracted to the organization, HLTV.org has confirmed. Hampus "hampus" Poser is also still contracted, while Alfred "RuStY" Karlsson's status is unknown, meaning the following players remain tied to GamerLegion:
