SMASH to host charity stream event to fight coronavirus crisis

SMASH Esports has teamed up with esports and entertainment consulting agency Y. Nasimov and with electronic music magazine DJMAG to produce a charity event on Sunday to raise funds to combat COVID-19.

The charity event will combine music and gaming to produce a day-long live stream featuring DJ sets from Dimitri Vegas, Wolfpack and Bassjackers, as well as gaming content across multiple titles, including CS:GO, Call of Duty: Warzone and League of Legends.

The live stream will begin on April 5 at 11:00 and will be streamed on SMASH’s Twitch channel, with an interview with Anton "ToH1o" Georgiev and Kamen "bubble" Kostadinov kicking off the event. The interview, which will be centred around COVID-19, will be followed by a CS:GO showmatch featuring the SMASH roster against SMASH and DVLM management, with Adam "Dinko" Hawthorne and Mitch "MitchMan" McBride commentating on the action.

All proceeds collected during the charity event will be donated to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for WHO, with the donations helping to "track and understand the spread of the virus", which has infected more than 1 million people worldwide and caused over 50,000 deaths.

"The entire SMASH family wants to do everything in their power to help in the battle against COVID-19," Dimitri Vegas, DJ & Founder of SMASH Esports, said in a statement.

"We are looking forward to creating this amazing day where we combine music and gaming to bring people together online. The fans can watch & listen to what they love and support a good cause at the same time. Stay safe and stay inside."

If they have, HLTV should've announced it to bring more attention to it.

Yup, almost everyone of Liquid did charity streams, Stewie2k, Twistz and a bunch of other Liquid players
2020-04-03 14:46
Yeah, but it was the players not the orgs, so makes sense hltv as not said anything. Fallen, Kng and Fer did charity streams too.

Both organization have rosters on the other games too. I have seen some news on HLTV and I gotta say HLTV won't write anything that's not about CS, specifically.

Do you even know what charity means you dumb fuck? DONATES GOES TO THE healthy organisation stupid kid base on comments.
2020-04-03 14:28
I think, before you started tilting, he means: if they have contracts with players and don't honor those, why would they 'honor' the donations by giving them to WHO? If you do some research you'll see that almost 70% of donations for disasters never gets there because CEO's and others from so-called charities have to be paid too and their salary is more important than sending money to the places they are raising them for.
2020-04-03 14:47
Exactly my thought... they fucked up csgo team and now wanna look cool??? 😂😂😂😂♿️

Honestly stupid to donate to The Who, they have basically unlimited funds pouring in from every country. They should donate it to the hardest impacted areas of elderly and rampant economic damage (no money for food, water, housing) donate it to a city to actually help people who need help.
