Chaos add Voltage on permanent basis

Chaos have announced that they have signed Logan "Voltage" Long from Triumph as a permanent replacement for Owen "smooya" Butterfield.

The 20-year-old was enlisted as a stand-in for Chaos in late March as a replacement for smooya who, at the time, had been benched after he returned to the UK to sort out issues with his ESTA.

Upon returning home, smooya's P1 visa interview with the US embassy was postponed indefinitely due to the coronavirus outbreak, with the British AWPer being released from Chaos not long after as he would be unable to reunite with his teammates for the foreseeable future.

Voltage has joined Chaos on a permanent basis

While playing as a stand-in for Chaos in Flashpoint, Voltage has averaged a 1.04 rating over ten maps, making him the second-highest rated player on the roster below Joshua "steel" Nissan. Voltage's permanent addition to Chaos reunites him with former Triumph coach Matthew "mCe" Elmore, and will now allow him to fully focus his attention on integrating into steel's system.

Chaos will have a limited amount of time to get further practice hours in as the Flashpoint 1 playoffs are set to get underway on April 9, with the team taking on HAVU in the upper bracket.

Chaos now have:

Canada Joshua "steel" Nissan
United States Hunter "SicK" Mims
United States Anthony "vanity" Malaspina
United States Cameron "cam" Kern
United States Logan "Voltage" Long

United States Matthew "mCe" Elmore (coach)

Smooya may be better, but he is a complete asshat IRL. there was a glimmer of hope for UKCS with Smooya, ALEX, and Mantuu emerging. but now ALEX took leave of his senses and committed career suicide by leaving Vitality, Smooya just won't stfu and is spiralling down to the bowels of competitive CSGO. leaving just Mantuu left playing for a decent team. feelsbadman :(
2020-04-06 21:52
he said in an interview when he joined Chaos that he was improving as a person and all that, I haven't kept up with him/havent seen interview since so I wouldn't know but he seemed genuine.
2020-04-06 21:53
here's hoping, that sort of thing can be brought under control fairly easily with some good anger management and possibly a sports psychiatrist. The dude is a solid awper, but if you piss off your teammates you're going to get kicked :(

People say Smooya was carrying Chaos. And he was playing well no doubt. But I give most of the credit on this roster and his performance to Steel. Probably no other pro has sacrificed as much as this dude. Thorin and Richard Lewis were talking about Chinese players with Lamborghini's and noting that he didn't even match fix. lol Really is a shame. I think if this dude had been an NA IGL competing in majors since IBP he's probably on Liquid or EG right this second. What was it 2500 dollars total in skins? Fuck me.

Definitely unlucky. At this point I just feel for the dude. He's not like Swag where he can even switch to Valorant or anything. He's 28 years old. If this isn't his last roster it's one of them.

Agreed, a massive injustice all because of one mistake back when the scene looked nothing like it is now, especially as Valve has chosen to turn a blind eye to all the other, even worse offences of others since then. Steel could definitely have been the IGl of a great NA team, not to mention he seems like a cool guy who didn't deserve this. RIP
