MIBR take down Orgless to move into Flashpoint upper semi-finals
MIBR are through to the upper bracket semi-finals of Flashpoint 1 after beating Orgless 2-1 in the first round of the playoffs.
The Brazilian team bounced back from Thursday's harrowing Pro League defeat to FURIA with a much-needed victory that, at least for now, will restore confidence in their camp. For the most part, it was a good performance from MIBR, though they will still be kicking themselves for letting the series go to a third map after cruising on Inferno, a map that has long been a problem for them, and then wasting a 15-12 lead on Overpass, their best map in the last three months.
Doubt began to creep in some fans' thoughts as the match went to Dust2, but Fernando "fer" Alvarenga put their minds to rest with an epic performance to seal a deserved victory for his team, who will face HAVU in the next round of the playoffs on Sunday.
A lively start from MIBR saw them jump out to a 4-0 lead on the CT side of Inferno, Orgless's map pick. Brazilian fans then must have had some painful flashbacks to some old games on the map as Pujan "FNS" Mehta's troops enjoyed a spell of dominance after some great calls from the Canadian in-game leader. It looked like the game was starting to tilt towards Orgless, but MIBR tightened up and secured the final four rounds of the half to take a narrow 8-7 lead.
After that nerve-racking CT side from MIBR, the second half was surprisingly a walk in the park. They picked the Orgless defense apart in a completely one-sided period of the game, losing just one round en route to a landslide victory.

Matthew "WARDELL" Yu opened up the action on Overpass with a quad-kill in the pistol round to set Orgless up for an early lead, one that was quickly wiped. MIBR took control of proceedings once they had money in the bank and ended the half with 10 rounds to their name thanks to another spectacular offensive display from Vito "kNgV-" Giuseppe, who amassed 22 frags.
Orgless came out firing on all cylinders in the second half and had the upper-hand during the early stages of the game, despite a few hiccups along the way. With the score tied 12-12, MIBR tightened up and hit map point after switching up to a double AWP setup. Orgless looked dead and buried, but the Canadian team had other ideas and found a lifeline on a shoddy buy, destroying the Brazilians' economy and clawing their way back into the game.
The Canadian team's efforts were not in vain, though things didn't look so bright for them at first. But after losing the first two rounds of overtime, FNS' troops picked up the pace and outplayed their opponents to send the series to an all-deciding third map.
MIBR were unfazed by that setback and got off to a flying start on Dust2, where they cruised to an 11-4 lead after a phenomenal T half from fer and Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, who combined for 38 frags. A quad-kill from Gage "Infinite" Green in the second half pistol kept Orgless in the game, but the Brazilians rallied back immediately and quickly wrapped things up.
