Liquid sweep EG to win ESL Pro League Season 11 North America

Liquid defeated Evil Geniuses 3-0 to clinch the title in ESL Pro League Season 11's North American division.

The Nick "nitr0" Cannella-led squad once again showed that they have the upper hand against Evil Geniuses, bringing them down for the third consecutive time in the league, this time in rather convincing fashion as they extended their overall streak against their North American rivals' core to nine series victories in a row.

The grand final came down to a brilliant performance from Keith "NAF" Markovic, who ensured Liquid's victory on Dust2 before Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski joined him at the top of the scoreboard on Vertigo while the star duo pushed their team to the 3-0 sweep.

NAF and EliGE shone in the grand final

The two teams first met on Dust2, where they had had a 1-1 record against each other from their two previous close encounters in Pro League over the past two weeks. After a back-and-forth start, this time it was Liquid who amassed a great defensive half spearheaded by NAF and went on to extend their lead further when they got on the offense.

Down 5-13, Evil Geniuses found a way back with five consecutive rounds and looked to make their rivals sweat when the economy swung their way, but a key 1v3 clutch by NAF helped Liquid lock down the first map at 16-11 for a 2-0 series lead.

With their backs against the wall, EG started off well on Vertigo thanks to a 2v4 turnaround from Ethan "Ethan" Arnold and Tarik "tarik" Celik in the pistol round, but soon NAF started running rampant again as the two teams began to trade blows. As Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte shone on the other side, the score was nearly even at halftime, but then EliGE joined the fray with big multikills and Liquid were able to run a dominant offense and clinch the victory without conceding a map at 16-9, 3-0.

Liquid are notoriously not great with online tournaments and they didn't have the best start to this year, so to really warm up into the game and finish this tournament so strong, not dropping a single map in the playoffs, what a hell of a performance. I'm so proud of them for taking this EPL NA. They really proved they are Number 1 in NA as they always have been. Respect to EG but Liquid will always be the roadblock for them.

No offence but there wasn't any real challenger in this NA bracket except EG. It was clear from the very start that either Liquid or EG would take it.

Well yeah, but Liquid historically underperforms in online play, so this result is impressive for them even if it isn't *that* impressive on paper.

Yeah, exactly my point. Add to that the fact that EG won a whole...what, one map from them in the entire EPL NA? It is impressive for them, for sure.

Especially considering how slow Liquid started, the fact that they were able to look somewhat like their old selves is a really good sign for them. And then they went and stomped the Valorant players lmao

Liquid looking really good atm. I think they can easily comeback to TOP 5. As for EG they don't have enough firepower to even keep in TOP 10 imo.

Brehze Tarik Nifty ( I really like him, with zews could be a good captain) Ethan Sergej

0/10. You kicked snakenislaw, who still better as IGL, for another snake Nifty, who even worse as IGL, than stan. Your roster also haven't a main AWPer. Why you kicked CerQ for sergej? Also why you kept tarik in your roster? He's a first candidate for a kick from the team. Best possible EG roster (IMO): Brehze sergej CerQ stanislaw Ethan
