OG, forZe, Cloud9 headline DreamHack Masters Spring closed qualifier invites

Closed qualifier teams for all four DreamHack Masters Spring regions have been announced, with OG being the highest-ranked squad in this phase of the competition.

Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen's squad missed out on a direct invite to Dreamhack Masters Spring Europe, as the last one was handed to Heroic instead, but the European mixture will be joining forZe, GODSENT, and Virtus.pro in the closed qualifier for the European part of the tournament.

OG are set to participate in the closed qualifier for DreamHack Masters

In North America, Flashpoint 1 participants Cloud9, Envy, and Bad News Bears were handed invites to the closed qualifier, alongside Swole Patrol. Lastly, Lucid Dream and AVANT are favorites for spots in the main tournament after being invited to the Asian and Oceanic closed qualifiers.

The closed qualifiers for all four regions will take place on April 18-20, with open qualifiers preceding them on April 16-17. In Europe and North America, a total of eight teams (four invited, four qualified) will be competing for the final two spots at the main event, while four teams will compete in closed qualifiers in Asia and Oceania (two invited, two qualified).

I agree that ENCE absolutely undeserved this invitation, but it's good for OG that they didn't get invitation. They need to practice more, qualifications are a good opportunity for this.

This is some real conspiracy theory shit. I don't understand why ENCE keep getting invited over better teams. They are dogshit!
2020-04-15 16:36
Watch them finish the tournament in last place again
2020-04-15 16:37
This is indeed some next level shit. There's literally zero arguments to invite ence over og. ZERO

its because in esl ranking which is a joke ence used to be higher placed than OG until recently and that is how they decide the invites I guess, now og has passed them easily but it was too late I guess :D

EU OG Spirit (Will make it from the Open Qualifier to Closed and from Closed to the main event) NA Bad News Bears Swole Patrol I think those teams will make it to the main event.

ENCE and Heroic invited over forZe OG GODSENT and VP kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

2020-04-15 16:40
So they invite ENCE but better teams should play qualifier ahah, corrupted Dreanhack
2020-04-15 16:40
yes
2020-04-15 16:40
Please don't enable ENCE by inviting them. If they have to go through qualifiers they might have to re-learn their approach to the game. They have to hit absolute rock bottom without any invites to realize the reality of their current level of play. If they are always invited to tournaments despite not winning any games at all they will just continue just like old Virtus.Pro did.

It has already started, remember the Katowice qualifiers. I think they got an invite due to their ranking in ESL rankings, but not sure.
2020-04-15 16:44
not fast enough we should be arguing whether they deserve an invite to the closed qualifier, not the main event

We should start wondering if they should be allowed in open quals or not.

Well they were lucky to get invite as their esl ranking sadly used to be high enough for that until recently, if the invites were given today they would not get invite

14 teams invited and they're currently #14 of the EU based teams. So the question is about CoL. But if they are not EU then ence "deserve" their slot from ranking

its because esl ranking is used to decide the teams, it isn't some dude deciding them but rather looking ranking and then highest ranks get invites

2020-04-15 20:31
