BLAST Rising invites revealed

BLAST has announced the full list of participants for its Rising tournament, featuring €30,000 ($32,300) in prize money.

Finnish side HAVU, who placed third in Flashpoint 1, and ESL One: Road to Rio Europe duo Movistar Riders and Heretics headline the team list for this online tournament, which has been designed by BLAST to support teams outside of the upper echelon.

Running from May 4-22, BLAST Rising will begin with four double round-robin groups, from which the top two teams will progress to a single-elimination, best-of-three playoff bracket.

HAVU are the highest-ranked team in attendance in BLAST Rising

The draw for the group stage will be held on Thursday, April 30, with the matches streamed live on the BLASTtv Twitch channel. The full list of participants looks as follows:

i dont think they went after team between 20-100 hltv ranking. i believe they went after teams they think have the quality to be in this tournament, gaints and saw almost never play tournaments with hltv cover, so their ranking is kinda of a lie. in my opinion giants are the weakest team here and they could've picked someone better, im happy they didnt, i hope giants prove me wrong.

I don’t think either saw and giants deserve a place in this tournament, both are garbage currently, giants is tier 10 currently, wouldn’t call it a professional team, and saw are not consistent at all, they are all talking, would prefer better teams in there, our scene is just garbage right now

So let me contradict your statement with actual facts. Since February, SAW has played in MLP, OUL, ESL Masters Spain, Flashpoint Europe Closed Qualifier, Dreamhack Masters Open Qualifier and Europe Minor Open Qualifier for major (tell me if I missed any). Let's analyze the teams they played against and how they were at the moment they played. MLP - they won all games, it's obvious. Every team there isn't playing at a professional level. Giants are a disgrace right now, rework in summer, or when the virus ends. OUL - they lost two games, one I am not gonna count because they played with the coach, the other was a Spanish team that is currently in a tier5+ state, but at the time were even lower. Other games SAW won were or games that should be won or by a bit, to teams that are unknown. And don't come with the heretics team because at the time they were tier 5 with a player that wasn't the best fit for them. Want me to continue or is that enough for you?

i hope you read my comment like i read yours. sorry about the size of it XD So let me contradict your statement with actual facts. if i'm good at math their last lost before avez was against s2v (19/2/2020), that makes it 2 moths and 9 days, 2 losses s2v then avez 17/4/2020. You talk about inconsistency, tell me what inconsistency?? doesn't matter against which teams they played because the true is they hadnt lost a single game in almost 2 months. the only thing it means is that they havent proved himselves in the internacional scene. where does the inconsistency come in? Im not saying they are an extraordinary team who can beat the best of the world only because they won against offset or whatever. the way you discredit saw's wins is unbelievable. 2 months ago s2v was bellow tier 5, now they are better, alright... but what about saw? in your point of view does saw remain the same? i think they have improved a lot. tomorrow they will play against each other, lets see who wins. let me give you an exemple about how losing to s2v that day isnt that worrying. movistar won against mouze, are mouze a worst team because of it? No. you discredit their win against heretics because they were playing with a player that wasnt the best fit for them? i dont think thats an excuse, they were still a good team, unless you're talking about the game on esea open where they played with their coach, who's good btw.

the coaching game was on the orange league, but that was actually not bad, yeah, for me was bad wording, inconsistency wasn't in general, I meat that they play really good and then choke against the better teams when I believe they could win. the reason why I hate saw is that they have the potential to get big but seem not to be giving it all, that's my reason

They're a new team. They started in January/2020, and have already won against, Tricked, Movistar Riders, Wisla Krakow, Gambit Youngsters, Heretics, Sinners, Winstrike, S2V and they wreck Giants Everytime. If this tournament is for rising teams, I don't know how they couldn't be invited.

They are not that much new, the core team has been together for a while, and just and stadodo are not that unfamiliar with them, the only team you mentioned that actually was an achievement was Movistar, Gambit Youngsters i wouldn't count because after they reversed their tactics an got vengeance. Giants it is normal they are being wrecked, fox is the only one at their level, the rest are not professional at all.

Tier 1 - 1-10 Tier 2 - 11-20 Tier 3 - 21-30 Tier 4 - 31-50 Tier 5 - 51-100 the only team you could consider tier 2 would be heavy, on the gosu gamers ranking system, by a thin thread as they are 20, if that was the case, yes you could say that now other trustable rankings all have the teams on tier 3 and above, even ESL puts the highest as Movistar on 30 place, that is almost tier 4 xD, tell me then, which tier system do you use and the ranking system then?

Stupid system... And you should instant stop using it. Event the major isn't a tier 1 tournament if we use this... Same for BPS, DH Master, ESL One Koln. In your (stupid) way of rank tier team: NIP is not a T1 team but Vitality or 100 Thieves are still T1. But thanks, now I understand better when I saw idiots saying XYZ team is T4/T5. Events are not classified in this system but in q letter system, i dont remember the letters but it was on liquidpedia. In my system i do agree that nip is not tier one, they are good but lost their form and vitality and 100 thieves are tier 1 as they have better form on long term. The more you call something stupid the more you gonna lose an argument. There are various ranking systems. Just because mine is different than yours doesn't mean it is stupid.
