BLAST Rising groups revealed

The draw for the group stage of BLAST Rising has been concluded, with the 16 participants having been split into four different groups.

The €30,000 tournament, featuring teams outside the top 20 of the world rankings, will kick off on Monday with a double round-robin group stage, which will determine the eight sides making the single-elimination playoffs.

Heretics, who have been the surprise package of the European division of ESL One: Road to Rio, will fight for a playoff berth with AVEZ, Secret and SAW, while Movistar Riders will be out for revenge against Japaleno after being humbled by the Swedish side in the last two matches between the two teams in a group that also includes Apeks and FATE.

Movistar Riders will try to exact revenge on Japaleno

Flashpoint 1 third-place finisher HAVU headline Group B, which also features the new AGO team, now led by Oskar "⁠oskarish⁠" Stenborowski, and the veterans of Nordavind, while Endpoint are the highest-ranked team in Group A, which seems to be the most open of the four.

damn you just flagchecked yourself????? ngl they look like the weakest team in that group (aside maybe Secret), but it has been crazy with the upsets lately so there's a chance, also there's a chance for playoffs even if they don't win the group so that's good I hope Japaleno do good here, I'd say either them or Apeks will be second in this group, unless one of them can beat Movistar (unlikely)

Heretics in RtR, though, they've stepped up. Beating the team that beat Secret isn't proof at all, two completely different games. But we'll see!

As far as it is known on our scene is they are working hard this tournament and in some other tournaments they've upsetted hardly some of these teams, so imho we can't take them out that favoritism place aswell, their biggest challenge will be this tournment for now and this roster has been giving great results specially for the time they're together... (4 months) they'll need a good step up to win this group tho... heretics know already how hard sAw can be, they've got destroyed in 3/3 matches against sAw I believe... now Avez are something else, very well capable of taking the top place out of their group aswell. Imho all the 4 groups are pretty jacked up...

I literally haven't seen a single thing from them so my guess is they haven't been improving much, however Endpoint have been improving so I think that bodes well for them edit: Attax beat Endpoint 3-1 in their last game tho, but still I think it's fairly open
