WINNERS League Invite S4 set to start
A total of $50,000 will be up for grabs across the FACEIT-based league's multiple divisions in Europe and North America.
The fourth season of the WINNERS League will once again offer multiple divisions for teams to compete, with the $15,000 Invite division scheduled to run from May 18 to July 6. Revisions to the format and schedule of the division have allowed for a reduction in the overall length of the season, giving teams the chance to put full focus on a single match per week.
In Europe, Espada will return to defend their title after prevailing 2-0 over Nemiga in the grand finals of Season 3, while the North American Invite division will see the likes of Chaos, Triumph, and TeamOne compete. Notably, neither the winner nor runner-up of the previous NA season have returned, with BOOM remaining in Brazil due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and Swole Patrol recently disbanding.
Both regions will also offer teams the chance to compete in the Main ($6,100 prize pool) and Starter divisions ($3,900 prize pool), with details regarding sign-ups and entry fees available on the WINNERS League website.
The Invite division will feature a total of 16 teams in each region, utilizing a best-of-one Swiss system to determine the eight teams making the playoffs. The format is a change from the traditional round-robin groups of previous seasons and recent qualifiers, with the tournament organizer looking to put focus on a more competitive format and better schedule for the competing teams.
The following teams will take part in the European Invite division:
